Thank you..

I'm afraid to say how the interview went.. I was so nervous!

I think many of us are praying for you...you want it so badly and it's not that often we get to see people that excited for a job! I threaten to quit my job often so it's good to see someone so excited for a new one. Good luck!!

Sandra,

whoo hoo! 201 . I got on the scale this morning and I was 203.2

I was so happy! You will be to onderland any day now. I will give myself a week or two. I tried on a pair of jeans that I used to wear when I was 185. I wanted to see how much more weight I needed to lose before I could zip them over my tummy. Well, they zipped right up. Fit perfectly. I guess I must be loosing inches. Even tho the scales don't show it!

Macysgranny, you look great! Keep up the weight lifting. It is amazing how it will change the shape of your body. I just got my "Bender Ball" in the mail. It is a small ball the you put under your lower back to help with sit ups or crunches. It is still hard (darn the ball dosn't do them for you). But, at least my back dosn't hurt while doing them. Look out six-pack, here I come!

Oh and Melissa, I pray that God blesses you with that job! He always knows what he is doing.

Blessings, Weazer or Mini...

Thank you SOOO much!! My fellow May Bandsters are the best!! Thank you so much for thinking of me. I'm really hoping things work out with this job.

TOM is here and I've been bad.. really bad.. Not exercising and eating like a pig with a tape worm!! I PB'd on a piece of chicken last night during dinner..then just gave up. I'm still housesitting for a couple more days and there is a treadmill sitting right down stairs.. I HAVE NO EXCUSE!!

Sandra- I was told no ab work for 3 months... guess I should get started, huh?? haha..

I started tanning last week (I know, I know.. not good for my skin...) and I feel so much better about myself.

I got out an old pair of casual pants I havent worn for almost 2 years..and they're too big on me...but they're great for days like today... when TOM is here, I'm bloated...its rainy and dreary out....

Renee- I did quit my job at a well known national laboratory back in March.. I was having some severe health problems due to the stress that came along with the job. For a long time I dealt with the stress... one day I had to be rushed to the ER due to chest pains and shortness of breath...that was IT! I told them I needed to take it easy or I had to go... my BP was sky high, I had migranes, not sleeping, IBS like crazy..and the last week I was vomiting every day. 2 weeks after the chest pain ordeal they came down on me twice as hard.. I told them thats it..I'm out! I had my surgery 5/14 and started looking for a job about a month after that.. Money is tight..very tight but I dont regret leaving. I talked to a previous co worker and was told that after I left 3 others had to be carried out on stretchers with chest pains!

Hi Ragdoll. I'm impressed with your weight loss. Congratulations. I see you have 2.7 cc in a 4 cc band. I only have 1.5cc and I'm still struggling hungry all the time and no restriction other than not able to eat bread. May I ask how many fills you've had? My Doctor gave me 1 cc 1st fill and then .5 cc. I wqnted more but he said he had a protocol to follow. Hmmm. Well good Luck and any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks, Sheila

Sheila,

I got 1.5 cc, then 1 cc, then .2 cc. This last fill really made a big difference in the fight against hunger. Now when I eat something I actually stay full, unless its oatmeal or Pasta. A lot of doctors have different theories on fills. I think if I had a little tiny tiny bit more restriction I would feel perfect but I dont want to mess with something that is working. So as long as the weight loss continues I will go with this.

When do you get another fill?

Thanks for the compliment and good luck!

Hi Ragdoll,

I have to see the doctor again this Wednesday, I just had a fill on the 14th of August from a Nurse Practioner. So I'm not sure if he'll give me a fill that soon, any idea? Thanks for the reply. Good Luck.

Sheila

OMG that is so NOT worth it! I'd head over to Walmart if my job was that stressful! LOL...i'm an assistant to a VP at a hi tech company so it gets a little stressful, but right now i'm on a 2 month sabbatical (we get one every seven years fully paid to keep us "fresh") so i'm really enjoying myself, but i'm thinking wow wouldn't it be great to work for a school and have every summer off??

Wow started rambling there didn't I? Well good for you for choosing life over that job and I hope you find one that treats you like a human being that you enjoy!

I have started in on the sit ups. My doc said not to worry unless you feel pain or discomfort. I was so happy yesterday that I went wakeboarding....today I can barely walk LOL........no sit ups today!!!

I am not compaining......I got sick yesterday during lunch didnt chew very well...then this morning I had a egg and it got stuck so got sick again. I dont get sick every day but at least 2 or 3 times a week. I have 4cc band and I got one fill back in June 1cc. On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
