Any April 1st sleevers?

Recommended Posts

I'm April 8 and I'm in Australia. I've been such a pig with some kind of 'last meal' mentality towards chocolate and ice cream that I'm sort of looking forward to the milkshakes and Soup only! Lol! Bit nervous about op too but I'm ready for a new life! Good luck everyone :)

Hey there I'm April 14 and in the land of Oz as well. I've had to go on pre op diet 5 weeks out. 3 shakes a day with a bland salad at lunch and two cups of steamed verges in the evening. Can't say I've been hungry (oh I am allowed a half cup of berries each day too) but I sure have missed meat over sweets lol. I'm just under 4 weeks out now and scared - hope it turns to excitement or anticipation soon lol - good luck

I have to do 1 week of Optifast but I'm using up my optislims now (bought the wrong ones!). Getting nervous. We will be fine! Think of 6 months from now :)I'm in qld, where are you? It's nice to see a fellow Aussie here. I read some of the great posts here but get frustrated when people talk about food items we don't have here :( bummer! I'm a teacher and hoping I'll be fine by 3 weeks as I have no sick leave left haha!

I'm in Qld too - and work in Brisbane. I'm hoping I'll only need 2 weeks off. Maybe I'm too ambitious :-) ha! I'm going through Ian Martin at the Wesley, but haven't come across any others on here yet. Yes I agree the focus is on the long term. Keep me posted on your journey and maybe we can swap our liquid and mushie recipes Aussie style ha ha. I have to say our fellow American wls friends are quite knowledgable and supportive - I've learned a lot reading posts here.

I'm in rocky area but I'm having surgery in buderim with Ian Baxter. Def keep in touch. I'll write up heaps on my journey. I've found those posts by others really helpful and honest!

I'm in eastern KY and my surgery is scheduled for April 18. I dread the pre-surgery diet. Actually, I am just scared to death of losing weight and then gaining it all back. Is anyone else worried about this?

It's okay, I think everyone is scared of regaining. That's why these forums are good, we are in it together :) You are not alone. I just think the cost and the pain should stop me! Also, once you are smaller it's easier to keep it off as you have more energy and exercising is more fun...plus your wardrobe haha

Of the 3 people I know only one regained her weight . she lost 50 pounds and then started regaining . She can't eat a lot at one time but I noticed she nibbles all day long ! She really didn't even try . I hope I remember this is a tool not a overnight weight loss miracle

Hey fellow April sleevers!!! I'm set for April Fool's Day as well :) Today is Day #3 of pre-op diet and not as hungry as I thought I would be....I'm lucky enough to get to much on veggies as needed throughout the day and the greens have been my friend! EGD tomorrow and one last blood draw next week and then good to go. Very excited and nervous all at once but ready to be on the other side for sure!

Hi Guys, my dates 1st April as well. It was supposed to be last Tuesday but there was a power cut after Id been given general anaesthetic so when I came around I was told they thought it was too high a risk to do the op dispite the back up generators kicking in. They then thought they could do it yesterday but that didn't happen so now its the 1st April. Its nice to know you guys will be having the op on the same day.

I'm 30, from Bristol in the UK. fingers crossed all goes well for all of us.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
