Please do! My husband had a lap band placed June 2008, he lost almost 100 lbs with it and then gained it all back. He is set to have the band removed 3/24 and then wait 2-3 months to get the gastric sleeve. I am looking to learn more from everyone so that I may be the best support for him! Please let us know how the revision goes :)

Wow! Well done for losing 100 pounds.

And, it sounds very stressful having to have another surgery so I hope you are doing OK with this. I sending you positive thoughts. I can't imagine how difficult it must be to keep your spirits up.

Do you mind me asking what is the medical term fir what you've experienced? And what surgery you are having? Is it to untwist your stomach or is it a re-sleeve or something else?

I am preop so want to make sure that I understand all the possible complications. I am still nervously waiting for a date :/

My stomach is very much twisted, twirled and 'kinked'.

It must have been a shock to get that diagnosis--but as others have said, I'm glad you got the information now rather than suffering really serious complications later down the road. Thank goodness there IS such a thing as a revision, imagine if there was nothing anyone could do to help your twisting tummy??

You have an awesome outlook, and it sounds like you've got a good head on your shoulders and a solid, supportive medical team. You're going to do just fine; hang in there, and keep us posted on your progress.

We all can learn from this if it don't feel right it might be time to see Doc and not continue till it gets worse.

It's very uncommon for it to happen, and something that seems to be more of a discovery from what the doctors have told me. They have a couple different procedures they are billed under such as sleeve revision, revision, sleeve revision to bypass, sleeve revision to partial, and revision to bypass. Mine is under sleeve revision to partial. They will be going in, removing my staples from my pouch, stapling it against the wall, restapling and doing some 'moving'. It is stressful to know I have to go through this, but I can truthfully say it is all worth is and I have no regrets what so ever! :-)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
