Well, looks like I hit the dreaded stall! But inches are coming off, I'll take that. Hope everyone is doing well! :)

That's awesome you have started to exercise already. How long did you wait before you started to work out? I have been walking a lot but still I am tired during the day and I need more rest than I needed before my surgery. What stage are you in at this time? Does your appetite fluctuate?

I waited 2 weeks after surgery. Before surgery I was exercising a lot ( spinning, body pump, ECT), so it wasn't that difficult to get back into the swing of things. I am 6 weeks post-op and exercise quite a bit. A lot of times my calories end up being in the negative, so I am definitely more tired! I don't notice any fluctuation in appetite, except for around that time of the month :)

my dietician said stalls usually last from 1-2 weeks and then it should pick up again. That's on the average bariatric patient. I just got out of mine, but did loose inches like you during mine!

The first time I tried eggs I couldn't tolerate them but tried a few weeks later and could. I'm just scared to try again lol

I'm six weeks post-op and am having a very strange experience. For the last week, pretty much anything I eat makes me very nauseated, even foods that I had been tolerating well are making me sick. Very odd. . .

I have my six week follow-up appt with my surgeon and dietician today, so will hopefully get some answers to this little mystery.

Congrats, everyone, on continued success! :)

4.29.14 Well, my surgeon and dietician weren't much help yesterday. They suggested various things to do and try, which I am already doing. I have cut back on my portion sizes (I was eating about 2 oz per meal/snack). So, now I will try eating only 1 - 1.5 oz at a time. I already take the smallest bite possible and chew until it is mush. Hopefully, this is just a little hiccup and won't last much longer. I was able to eat a few bites of Soup last night that only made me a little queasy.

On the bright side, my doc was pleased with my overall progress. She said at six weeks, they like to see about 25% excess weight loss and I'm at 31%, so I'm right on track.

It's woooooooooooooooooooooorking....................

You look great!!!!!!

My weight loss has been painfully slow the past two weeks. I've been back at work and I've been so tired when I get home that I haven't been doing a lot of working out. But I've still lost inches. I bought a shirt at old navy two weekends ago and it was super tight and I tired it on this morning and it fit perfect. My plan for the next two weeks is to get more Protein in. I'm working out by tilling my garden by hand. I joined planet fitness this weekend but it doesn't open for two more weeks.

Mine, too. I am kind of stalled. But...it will end soon. Am finally able to start eating. Had 2 turkey meatballs for lunch today. Yum!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
