Sliders! Im out of control!

Recommended Posts

I have been so bad since my last fill. I am 5 months post op and have a hard time eating most foods. I have been eating a lot of chocolate since it goes down so well. Am I alone in this? I dont eat much other calories besides the chocolate. I have lost 40 pounds but feel like its so slow and I feel like a failure sometimes. I need some inspiration. Thanks!

If that is all you can eat then you need to go get an unfill. Seriously if you don't you are going to lose muscle and once that is gone you can never get it back.

40 lbs is great as long as it's fat lost and not muscle as Cheryl pointed out.

My only advice is to stop buying chocolate and you won't be tempted. Very few of us fill our pantry's with bad foods as most of us do have serious food addictions and it's best to avoid temptation.

You should definitely be able to eat most foods -- time to see your surgeon! Don't worry, you can just get a small unfill. They will work with you and this is good information for them. That's the whole point of the band -- adjustable. Best wishes -- you'll be back on track soon.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
