Inappropriate Boss...ugh!

Recommended Posts

So, I have a VERY inappropriate boss that likes to get up in my personal space. I really should report her. I will eventually...maybe.... Anyway.

It was my first day back to work today, and as I suspected, she came and talked with me. The very first words out of her mouth were, "Well, let's see!!"

Me: Are_you_kidding_me.jpg

Not sure if she was talking about my scars or my weight loss. Hello, woman!!! I didn't get liposuction!!! Hahaha!

Then she started talking about future diets and how hard it's gonna be (like she really knows! She's a beanpole!). She said, "You're gonna have to work really, really hard! It's not going to be a magic fix!"

Me: 9b3.png

Hahahaha!!! Sorry for the memes. They've just been in my head today. :)

I just think it's funny! I used to get upset by her comments, but now I'm just like, "Oooh! What are you going to say today!"

Am I alone in this, or do any of you have inappropriate bosses? :)

How about a reply like, "I'm not really sure what it is you want to see, but that's just weird. And while I appreciate your insightfullness, I've got this, thanks ... then just walk away....

Her behavior in a management related position is totally unacceptable. If she says stuff in front of other people, repeat yourself, "while I appreciate your insightful input, I've got this, thanks." If she doesn't stop, I would report her. Ignorant...

Stay focused & keep that positive attitude.

Good luck!

Go to HR. A manager should know better....it's not like she's just another co-worker. I've gotten tons of comments at work..some inappropriate in my opinion (like asking how I lost the weight) but my manager has not said a word...not a single word. He's not blind, he's just smart and keeps his mouth shut.

I would suggest keeping a datebook w/her comments and the date she said them. Just in case it escalates and you want back up if you have to go to HR. I'm sure she doesn't say these things in front of others. Good luck and your going to look amazing when you hit goal.

I agree with the others that she could be in deep if she doesn't back off. I'm a boss. You never, ever, ever make comments, offer opinions on an employees physical appearance (unless it's work related) unless you want your company to be sued. I'd talk to HR right away and nip it quick or you'll be miserable. You shouldn't have to deal with that. You've worked your tail off. Who the hell is she to tell you what you already know?! Grrrr

I'm not sure if any of you are still subscribed to this post, but today she compared me to a starving child in Africa because of my large eyes and sallow cheeks........... Oh yeah! That's me! Hahaha! Next time she says something, I should be like, oh yeah? Well you look like Yzma! The reference would totally be lost on her though! Hahaha!

As an update, though, I did finally tell her boss! She hasn't brought it up with her, but I think I'm okay with that! It was just relieving to tell her! :) Thanks for listening, guys!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
