I would love to see others flipagram videos of there progress! It is such a great way to show our journey & our progress!

I put up a flipagram video about a week ago to show my 7 mths of progress! I was not sure when i put it up on here the first time if it would work but i was thrilled to see that it did. I started @ 321 LBS & was down 89 LBS when I made the video! I am currently down a total of 93 LBS about a week later! But I will add it here as well!

hair you may or may not lose along the way on your journey to a much happier, healthier you!!!

Good luck to each & everyone of my fellow sleevers & soon to be sleevers on your life changing journey & always remember if you feel noone understands what you are going through, you always have this website & your sleeve family!!! NEVER GIVE UP, KEEP MOVING FORWARD & NEVER LOOK BACK!!! Use your struggles to help keep you on track!

I just wish that people that use the mobile app could see our signatures and profile pix and before and afters.... there is alot of inspiration to be found there and it just isn't seen because so many people use the app.

Yes that is very true also... that is something we should bring to Alex's attention to see if there is anyway to get that fixed so that it works on the mobile app!!! I have not figured out how to put pics up on my profile bcuz I only use the mobile app.

Thank you very much!!! I am so much happier! It truly was a blessing to have this surgery! It saved my life & not just for me but for my daughter & my grandbabies as well bcuz I can do so much more woth the little ones & when my daughter was growing up I was so miserable by the time she hit her teens that I was just grumpy all the time & just tried to avoid most things & now when she comes home to visit from college we can enjoy more things together! & my step-grandbabies are happier to bcuz I can go to the park & actually play with them!!! It is an amazing feeling as the weight comes off bcuz I am no longer in a dark miserable place!!!

I so sympathize with what your saying. I was so depressed and miserable. I made everyone else that way too. This has changed all of our life's: myself, kids, and my sweet lil grand baby. I feel happy, healthy, and terrific.

Thank you so much MaryE!!! I will be keeping a look out for your progress pics &/or videos!!! Documenting this whole journey is the second best thing I ever did for myself, the first being the sleeve!!! The documenting of it helps us remember just how far we have come & where we do not want to go back... it shows us shedding our second skin & coming out with smiles so wide & a much healthier us!!! I wish you the very best on your journey & like I said I will be waiting to see your journey!!!! When is your surgery set for???

I am meeting with my surgeon again tomorrow. All my tests are done unless they need something more. I am hoping to get my surgery date tomorrow. I had the lap and done by the same surgeon in November of 2005. I did well in the beginning. I lost about 90 pounds. Bit I had the smaller band which didn't give to much room for fills. Hard to get to that sweet spot. To loose it extremely tight. Little by little I put back 70 pounds. I was so miserable with the band. Looking forward to having band out and sleeved same surgery. I'll post again with surgery date. I'm hoping for sometime in March. Thanks again for the ap. it really is inspirational. Thank you.

I will pray for everything to go as smooth as possible & that you get your date very soon!!! Congratulations on your choice to revise to the sleeve!!! Glad you had great success with the band as well for awhile & I am sorry you have to switch due to gaining some of the weight back but I also will pray for you to have the best success with your sleeve!!! Let me know how it goes at your appt & what your date is!!!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
