I was just sleeved on Friday, Feb, 21, 2014. I spent the night in the hospital and was released. Its not so bad.

Well, currently is like almost 2:30 sunday morning, I'm restless and cant sleep. My insides are burbling and rumbling with gas, but I have my heft load of Gas X to help there.

I hate the drainage tube. Thats the only thing on me that really hurts. I do need the pain reliever for it. Coughing and what not arent so bad as long as I hold a pillow over my stomach area for support.

I'm so happy to be in the comfort of my own home again. No nurses come in every so often taking vitals and blood sugar. No IV. And I was a lucky one...no catheter! I'm moving around good.

I think the most distressed person in this house is my cat...she missed her momma...lol.

Glad to know your surgery was a success. Good luck.

It's good to be home, isn't it? I know exactly what you mean about not getting checked out (vitals and such) over and over. It's good they do that, but there's no good resting with all that going on.

Congrats!

One of my cats stayed away from me for a day to show me her attitude. LOL.

Again I feel I'm pretty lucky. My gas hasn't been overly bad. My drainage tube is what seems to be my problem point, and I've called the nurse, its nothing too terrible to worry about. Mar 10 I go for the drainage point to be taken out, til then, I just have to keep things clean and dry.

I've been documenting what I drink and eat (jello and broth, etc).

I was expecting a horror story....this is a cake walk so far >.>

You have to keep it in until march 10?! I got mine out the day after I left the hospital. I'm so sorry. It was a million times better once it came out

i hope so. this drainage tube is the worst. and its leaking all over my clothes and bedding. the tube itself seems to be too long.
my husband wants to call or go up there to the doctors office first thing monday, and i just may have to agree. maybe something isnt quite right here. >.<

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
