  1. i hope so. this drainage tube is the worst. and its leaking all over my clothes and bedding. the tube itself seems to be too long. my husband wants to call or go up there to the doctors office first thing monday, and i just may have to agree. maybe something isnt quite right here. >.<
  2. Again I feel I'm pretty lucky. My gas hasn't been overly bad. My drainage tube is what seems to be my problem point, and I've called the nurse, its nothing too terrible to worry about. Mar 10 I go for the drainage point to be taken out, til then, I just have to keep things clean and dry. I've been documenting what I drink and eat (jello and broth, etc). I was expecting a horror story....this is a cake walk so far >.>

  4. I was just sleeved on Friday, Feb, 21, 2014. I spent the night in the hospital and was released. Its not so bad. Well, currently is like almost 2:30 sunday morning, I'm restless and cant sleep. My insides are burbling and rumbling with gas, but I have my heft load of Gas X to help there. I hate the drainage tube. Thats the only thing on me that really hurts. I do need the pain reliever for it. Coughing and what not arent so bad as long as I hold a pillow over my stomach area for support. I'm so happy to be in the comfort of my own home again. No nurses come in every so often taking vitals and blood sugar. No IV. And I was a lucky one...no catheter! I'm moving around good. I think the most distressed person in this house is my cat...she missed her momma...lol.

  6. My sleeve surgery is Feb. 21st. So excite! The liquid/protein shake diet is killing me, but I'm all ready. Been through my anesthesia assessment and been given my Luvenox and injection training. Best of luck to you, hope things go smoothly!

  8. Hello, Beth here, calling out from Alabama. I'm a 43 year old mother of one, who is a grown woman off with her own hubby now. I've replaced her with a cat, who I dote on just as much as I doted on her...lol. You will hear me talk a lot about my cat and my husband. I haven't had my sleeve surgery yet. I'm on a 10 day liquid diet for pre-op. The big day is February 21st, 2014. I've been waiting for the last six months for this exciting time (insurance deems 6 month wait). I'm excited and nervous. My mother is flying up from Guatemala just to be here for this. I'm hoping to really improve my life. I am disabled, with COPD and chronic back pain. I'm hoping with some of this weight gone, my pain will ease, not to mention just being healthier. I've kicked the cigarettes and though I need a bi-pap, I don't rely on my oxygen as much. I've lost 25 pounds pre-op so far. I'm moving more, eating smarter and trying to get my husband to do the same, but he is ever so reluctant. I'll find a rant thread to discuss him in however.
