Hi!!! Is there anyone with Arkansas Medicaid? I just got approved for Arkansas Medicaid and I know that Arkansas Medicaid will cover weight loss surgery. I live in West Memphis, Arkansas and I am in search of a surgeon. Any suggestions? Also, I would appreciate any other information that you can provide about your experience with weight loss surgery preferably the gastric sleeve.

I say, get Medicaid to pay for the sleep test. Go from there, then you can present th we sleep test result to your pcp. Also your primary care physician should be able to refer you to somebody. You can also call Medicaid to ask them if they have any doctors under that certain insurance who can assist you. I wish you the best of luck.

Ok so my medicaid will be cut off on the 1st. After that I will have blue cross blue shield through the affordable health care act does anybody know if they cover the surgery

How long did it take for you to get approved?

I have BCBS Fed, so it may be different. Anxious to hear about coverage. My niece lives in Arkansas too & she couldn't get approval from her insurance (through her job, never heard of the insurance). I'm so proud of her though! Through hard work and determination, she's lost around 100lbs. so far by exercising and healthy diet.

Do you have to do the 6 months diet for Medicaid to pay for the surgery

Doing the six month to u have to loose weight.. cause am gaining and loosing at the same time
