Need a fake surgery, dont want the little league moms to know

Recommended Posts

Ok so I'm having my bypass surgery in May, that's during little league season.

I don't want the moms there to know. But they will know something is up when I'm gone for awhile and come back sore etc. what other surgery can I say I had? Can't be gallbladder they know I don't have one. I just hate when people hear WLS they assume it's easy. So I was hopping for some ideas.

Oh.....I just saw that you are from NY...I have to amend my answer.....

Either hiatal hernia surgery OR

Dual middle fingers with squared up knuckles perpendicular to the index finger and the thumb extended horizontally so that the thumb and index fingers form a right angle. ( who is trying this as they read it?.....Lol) and also a " Go f*uck yourself" for an exclamation point!

I'm from CT and do a lot of work in NY so I feel qualified to offer this suggestion.:)

Sex reassignment. Tell them you now have the penis they've always hoped for.

It "slipped" that I was in the hospital, so I t told people my appendix bursted (did my research on a bursting appendix).

As far as the consistent weight loss, luckily for me I had 6 months to prepare for my surgery. I was already losing weight prior to going in for surgery. So it was easy for me to tell people I started working out at the gym. I'm glad the weight is not dramatically coming off cuz I tell people I do hard core work outs 4 days a week (I do go work out, but only three days and not HARD CORE) and I say I cut out rice, Pasta and junk food (not a lie). So they see I'm toning up. It's mostly true with a little "untrue" added to it. Lol

Then I change the subject. It's worked for six weeks :). That's my story and I'm sticking to it haha.

When I told my boss that I was having surgery, I just left it at that. No extra details.

Some people that had asked when I was sore it was just abdominal surgery and they didn't ask any further. Nothing has been asked lately. I wish the weight would fall off quicker but I'm also glad it is slow as it doesn't seem hugely drastic for anyone to ask me.

Why tell them anything? If someone asks simply tell them you were tending to a medical issue but I'm feeling much better, thanks! Leave it at that.

Just because someone asks, doesn't obligate you to answer. Keeping ones medical issues to oneself is your right and your choice and you are under no obligation to share it.

For me personally, the only people that know are my husband and one of my two sons. When people ask how much weight I've lost, I smile and say "a bunch." When they ask how I'm doing it, I tell them "I'm working really hard at it." That pretty much lets people know that this is not a topic up for discussion.

Your decision to improve your health will be the best gift you can give yourself! Congrats to you for taking that step!

Best of luck to you. You will love the new you! :)

I told the people I wAnted to know and the ones I didn't, I told them my back was out. Wasn't untrue as my back did go out being pulled from stretcher to OR table or somewhere in between. Since my back had a bad habit of that, no one questioned it. Plus, my coworkers gave me the due consideration with pt assignments during the initial healing phase. Just something we do.

Gallbladder surgery, appendix removed, hemmorhoids (tmi maybe) or how about plastic surgery if they say where say you don't want to know...

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
