Trading my 8 year old lap band for a new sleeve

Having band removed in March with and my new sleeve on same day. Tried working with the band for 8 years. Lost in the beginning but so many complications. Gained almost all of my weight back. Looking forward to new beginnings.

Good luck on your journey towards the sleeve! Wish you the best :)

I had the band to sleeve conversion on same surgery day. In my case, I am more successful with the sleeve than the with the band . Wishing u good results with the sleeve,

Sending good vibes your way! Best of luck with your surgery :)

I just had my band revised to a gastric sleeve on 1/29/14. Got my lapband in 2008, since then had lots of problems with getting restriction. So far, its been good.

I too just had my band removed and sleeve done in 2/10. Doing great and soooooooo happy I moved forward with surgery. The Lap Band should be taken off the market. Too many people with serious issues.

Good idea &lapnicky

Why don't you start a campaign for this?

I can't believe the band is still being inserted into people.

Weight loss surgery centre in Canada say:

"We no longer offer adjustable gastric banding as a bariatric surgery option because we see too many patients referred to us from all over Canada, in addition to those in our own practice, in whom the gastric band failed to achieve the desired results or produced life threatening complications 5-10 years after the surgery."
