I have lost 156 pounds and have went from a size 20 to a size 0. i went from 282 pounds to a 126 pounds and I feel amazing! the first pic to the far left was about 6 months post op after i had lost about 70 pounds, the middle pic was me about 4 months preop at about 285 pounds. and the last pic is me 12 months post op at 145 pounds. Currently I am 126. Needless to say life has changed drastically!!! :)

@@amehammack2010 WOW!!! Please do share!! How did you manage to get it all off PLUS MORE??? We would love to know your typical meal plan and exercise plan, did you also have to deal with any loose skin?? You are absolutely gorgeous! I dream of maintaining like you!!

Thank you:) I really stuck to the high Protein, shakes mostly in the beginning and then a lot of fish and chicken. I do loves steak so I did eat steak occasionally but my stomach couldn't handle a lot of red meat for a while. I live on a farm and my husband and I have a pumpkin patch and corn maze in the fall so I do a lot of physical work so I didn't get toned by spending hours in the gym. Of course I do work out as well, I use free weights, resistance bands, apps on my phone and some dvds at home when I do have time. I have 4 kids and a 52 acre farm so I will be honest I don't have as much time to focus on working out as I'd like. But I work so much on the farm that I burn off the calories and lifting things has toned my arms and built my upper body up. People ask me all the time what workout I do and I just tell them the farm one! Lol. I never imagined that my reflection would be so drastically different in just 18 months! I am still getting used to it myself!!!

I have been amazingly fortunate in the loose skin area. I was only over weight for about 10 years and I guess maybe genetics helped me in the elasticity area bc the only real bad problem area I'm super self conscious about is my tummy and my upper thighs. post-291656-14626348937965_thumb.jpg never thought I'd post a swimsuit pic on social media but here's one I got brave enough to share a couple weeks ago :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
