Looking for surgeon in Houston Texas to sleeve low BMI

Recommended Posts

Can anyone recommend a surgeon in Houston Tx that will sleeve a low BMI? My BMI is 32.

I recently turned 65 so I have Medicare and AARP United Healthcare Suppliment Plan. Is it possible they will pay for the surgery? I will self-pay if needed.

I have several co-morbidities, diabetes, high blood pressure, arthritis, sleep apnea, spinal stenosis and have had 2 heart attacks. My endocrinologist is recommending the surgery. Endo sent my info to Dr. Vadim Sherman. But that was 2 weeks ago and no phone call yet.

I have struggled with my weight for so long that I just need some help.

Thanks everyone for your help.

I am using Dr Ata Ahmad in Houston and I really like him. I don't know for sure about his surgery requirements because I'm not borderline. However, if you call his office and ask for Rhiannon, his bariatric coordinator, she can answer any questions you might have. She is going on vacation next week but you may be able to catch her tomorrow morning if she's in the office still. She's very sweet and will help you figure out if you qualify for surgery, help figure out your insurance, and talk to you about your options if you don't have insurance. You may need an appointment but I believe that if you end up being self pay, the consultation is free.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
