Hey rnw how did your preop class go.Do you have to do the 2 weeks of liqieds & Protein? I have to go on the 27th of March for my class.

The class went well very informative on what I can and cannot eat. My 2 week preop diet is 1000 calories only so I can still eat food so I went shopping for a lot of smart ones and lean cuisine meals and really making sure I'm not eating and drinking at the same time. How's everything going with you Joann and thanks for asking

1000 calories that's good, at least you don't have to do the Protein Shakes that everybody seems to find disgusting. But be careful on the smart ones and the Lean Cuisines just watched the sodium intake because the sodium can be kind of high on those meals.

I'm doing my voluntary liquids and Proteins today just to see how well I get through a day. I started off with tea from Tim Hortons with equal in it and I had an Atkins strawberry shake which has 15 grams of Protein and only one each of carbs and sugar and 160 calories. I'm also going to try the ensure high Protein Shake that has 25 grams of protein, so hopefully I can still tolerate the taste after the surgery . I hear a lot of people saying that their taste buds go a little haywire after surgery.

yeah I heard about the taste changing. I haven't tried any shakes yet in case I don't like something after surgery.

Already had my date of 4/14 but now it's official since my insurance approved! I'm beyond excited and hope the 14th gets here ASAP! I go next week to see the surgeon for the last time before surgery. Eeek! 31 is going to be my best year yet!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
