After the first 3 or 4 days it became a lot easier for me. I increased Water and that helped a lot.

I start Week 2 on Wednesday, so I'm right behind you. I was revised from lap band surgery to the sleeve last Thursday so this is a little more extreme than I am accustomed to. But, I do hear that the starving mode does subside. The trigger that tells us we're starving was removed during the gastric sleeve. Starts with the letter G & I can't think of it. I believe any "cravings" we might have is more psychological more than anything. Make sure you're drinking plenty of fluids (that should help), and be careful when you start week 2. Our stomach's are still healing & we have to introduce foods back in slowly, and as they tell us.

Hang in there!

The first few days sucked - really sucked.

By about Day 5 I started to feel normal again. I drank a lot of green tea to help me thru the first few days.

Just hang in there and stick to your plan - just think, in 14 more days, you're going to have surgery.

Best of luck to you!

I have to agree with the earlier posts......I wasn't "STARVING" after about the 3rd or 4th day. I was drinking at least 3 Protein shakes a day and that on the most part kept the hunger at bay. I was allowed low cal. yogurt, no sugar added apple sauce, sugar free Jello and pudding, cream of chicken Soup etc. along with my liquids. I used these items as my actual meals.

By following the 2 week pre-op diet it really made me well prepared for post-op because I had to be on the same diet for 4 more week after surgery too.

Best of luck to you. Wishing you a speedy 2 weeks, a safe and trouble free surgery, a pain free quick recovery and long term sleeved success.

Day 3 for me and I am feeling good. I actually didn't really want my broth tonight but I knew I needed it. It will pass. I am thankful though that I only have to do 4 days. My surgery is on Wednesday. Good luck!

Thank you all so much!! I know this will get me closer to my surgery

My biggest issue is I hate the after taste of sucralose, I normally stay away from it, except now it's in everything I'm eating sf Jello, sf pudding etc

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
