Today marks one year since I ran for the first time in 20+ years. I did 2 miles a year ago today....could hardly believe it then. Things have definately changed in the last year.

I remember thinking I'd probably never do the 5k's I read about on here often....but that was just the beginning. For those just starting out, stick with it for a while and you'll be glad you did.

This morning I did one quick mile after work, quite a difference from a year ago. Rode my bike in this evening and will ride home in the morning, 21 miles each way.

Well it's only 85 degrees in Cali., I ate my lunch drank, went & walked for 30 min. around the building at work, I will go home & do my 30 minutes of dancing to the oldies by Richard Simmons , then take my shower ,catch up and go to bed.

Well I know I haven't posted on here in a few days, I am still going to the pool and walking, but I got some very sad news last week...I had been feeling some bad pains in my right hip...to the point some days I could hardly walk. Well old man Arthritis has really done me in...there is nothing but bone on bone in my hip joint. Waiting to hear about an appt with the Ortho doc...gonna try to see about putting off surgery as long as I possible can...I need to get the weight off before they go cutting on me again, and I am no where near green, so it is coming off slow...so folks if you keep folks in prayer...I could really use some!!! Thanks...but until I am told otherwise I am going to the pool...it makes me feel like I can do anything when I'm in that pool.

I guess it comes with age even though we look & feel young , I guess what our bodies went through before we lost weight took a toll on us , I also am seeing a Orthopaedic surgeon Friday & will be on disability for my back & I just found out about arthritis in my right hand & arm, however you swimming & riding your bike & exercising will help, good luck on what they say .

After working a 12 hour midnight shift, I went to the "Summer Sizzler 10K" this morning at 7am.....Guess all the "fast" runners in my age group must have slept in. I got 1st place in the Male 40-49 y/o division. And it was my first medal for either a 5 or 10k. Not sure how many were in the division, but couldn't have been too many. I think there were only about 80 runners total there today. Not a PR time for me, but 2 minutes faster than my last 10K. Its time for a shower and bed! Hope everyone enjoys their weekend!

Woo hoo and no u earned it far and square all ur training great job

Zip lining is fun ,but I don't think I could do it again, we're waiting for pics, I did see the good looking woman sitting at the bar feeling relaxed and having fun (You).

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
