I still struggle with....(fill in the blanks)

Recommended Posts

1. No bowel movements and having to take Meds for it constantly.

2. Not being able to guzzle Water.< /p>

3. Not drinking soon before, with or soon after eating.

4. The smell of yeast bread!

5. Exercise.

6. Loneliness. My hubby tries to be supportive but asks dumb questions that I feel like he should know the answers to. He has the resources to look this site up and read but won't and I struggle with it because I feel like he should want to in order to be supportive.

7. Loss of some friends. Some I thought were good friends are seemingly jealous of my weightloss. I was always bigger so their size was ok. Now that they're bigger it seems to upset them. One even says she'd " love to get the surgery but she will diet and work hard instead."

As if I haven't went through all that and some.

Struggling with Vitamins too and thinking of maybe switching to regular Vitamins so I at least want to take it. The bariatric ones taste gross, chalky and take forever to dissolve. I've started dreading having these pills in my mouth for up to an hour before dissolving

My surgeon and nutritionist have always said that two Flintstone's chewable vitamins are just fine. At least you don't have to wait for them to dissolve and they taste OK. :)

I take 1 Flintstone's Complete per day. Make sure you get the Complete version in the purple bottle. They include minerals.

My nutritionist also recommended two Flintstone chewables per day with Iron. You also need to take Calcium at least two hours apart from Iron or it interferes with absorption.

oh man sugar is definitely not the same as it used to be.... now sweet things i cant tolerate the same. i wouldnt have guessed before surgery as well but hey i guess thats what happens... i do have a thing for salt though i dont know why.... o_O

Eating slowly.

Taking my Vitamins.

Every shake is sweet. I've actually gotten tired of sweet stuff! If you had told me that BEFORE surgery--I'd never have believed it. I want something other than sweet in my mouth. Guess it's time for some "alone" time with my dear husband 'wink'---Sorry I'd use smileys and such but the firewall at work stops me from being able to do so. Speaking of which--I'd better get back to work.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
