Can I smoke after surgery / Why YES I CAN!!

Recommended Posts

Well just got home around 11am this morning. Anyone out there wondering about this topic. No problem! Calmed the nerves a bit just before I went in. Slept a little when I got home. Have been up and moving around no problem. Tried it, feeling GOOD !!!;)

And my surgery # things was 420. NICE !!! Couldn't have scripted that any better. ABP, here I come! ( I know ABP stands for something, just can't remember. something about all bands pretty or something. lol

Has anyone heard from the other guy who was getting surgery today? I can't seem to find the thread to see how it went.

See, I don't mean to start anything, but that's just ridiculous. Why would you make such a positive change to your health and then keep smoking? It just doesn't make sense.

Even though resistance is probably futile, have you ever actually seen a lung with emphysema or one with a bunch of tumors and masses. Not a pretty sight. Must be hard to live with, but I'm sure you've taken that all in account, right?

Good talk. :)

Thank you faith. How can you go wrong w/ someting that grows from the earth and is not man made?

Neveragain, that post was for people out there wondering the same thing I was. Just trying to help them out and not have to ask the question they have been wondering about. This place answered it for me, so hopefully I answered for someone else as well.

I stand corrected, however my opinion stands. Ulcers, nerve damage, and a battery of health problems can still manifest with the smoking of the...

I'm not going to stand here on a pedestal and tell you that I've never smoked, mostly due to the fact that I would be lying through my teeth. haha. I am going to tell you, however, that unless you grow it yourself and EVEN THEN, you can't get it pure and unadulterated like you used to. The stuff is downright dangerous now...

Good luck with everything, though.:)

*best smell ever, ever, ever, ever*:)

Yeah neveragain, I miss it too! Been a looong time, but I just can't see doing it anymore. Not worth the risks associated...Forget about the possibility of going to jail (never happen to me? Famous last words...), have you seen how f-ing STUPID Snoop Dogg looks and sounds these days? Can't tell me it doesn't have long term effects...

But the occasional one...

Man, it's been a long time, but I like my job...

Natural substances still cause harm when they cause smoke to get in your lungs... and with the natural stuff, you work on even HOLDING the smoke in there! They also give you the munchies which might be a definite problem with a band. And...when you need to work hard at exercising to round out this new healthy you, how much lung capacity and motivation will you have?

Not at all. So if you get hungry, have a snack. Who cares, no one is going to scold you if you get stoned and eat something. Life can be fun if you allow it to be.

What a funny thread. I too enjoyed what "Mother Earth" gives us...and then the munchies hit...and hit...and hit. I guess that is why I am now having weight loss surgery next week. I gave it up because the munchies were crazy. But now...I say...live and let live. "Whatever gets you through the night...it's alright"!

peaceout party people

I am new and am still contimplating surgery. This discusion is reminding me of a question I had about over eating, what happens because I too am 420 friendly. I am not an over eater by nature but quickly become one after a few hits.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
