Help me

I'm 10 days post op and still on my full liquid diet. I'm finding it very easy to eat a lot of soup and drink a lot of water. Any advice? I feel guilty

Half of a cup for soup within a half hour and for water I can drink about 16 ounces within an hour. I'm so thirsty all the time

As long as you're not feeling sick, bloated, in pain, or you're forcing yourself? I don't see the problem?

Not forcing myself. I guess it just goes down really well. But about 10 minutes after I feel balloted. I just feel so guilty???

Nah, I think you're fine. You won't feel the restriction with liquids like you will when you get to real food. I am recalling that I could eat 1/2 cup of soup at 10 days out, too.

I would suggest you slow down your intake. A little at a time. Let it settle and see where you go from there. If you're feeling bloated so soon out, that's not a good thing. It'll be like you're forcing it a bit.

Just be careful, slow down and see how you go. No guilt required.

When in doubt call your surgeon.

I'm in the same boat Megpie. I have been told that will change with the non liquid diet. I have modified what I am doing as Madam Reverie has said. My surgery was December 26th.

You will start feeling more restriction when you start eating foods with more substance. I could drink a Protein drink in half an hour. Sip and keep up your fluids throughout the day. I wouldn't feel guilty. You're doing what you should be doing.
