I was banded last Friday and was released from the hospital on Monday on full liquids. I can't seem to be satisfied on anything I eat. The only thing that's somewhat satisfying are Protein shakes, sf Jello, sf pudding, sf frozen fruit bars, sf pudding pops and the broth from Campbell's chicken noodle Soup but all of that is getting old and its only been 5 days. I tried blending up the chicken noodle Soup and I think it tastes horrible. Any ideas???

I can switch to a pureed diet next Friday. Is the pureed diet considered the mushie stage?

Any advice is appreciated.

I was just banded 2 weeks ago and was I. The same boat. I would boil some pinto Beans with a dash of olive oil and salt and 2 to 3 hrs later drink the broth soooo good. I also would so wonton Soup and any of my favorite Soups and just do the broth.

Good luck it will pass.

Also take a can of cream of chicken Soup. Prepare as directed on stove. Let cool. Add one can of canned chicken. Then put in a blender. Very filling! Lots of protein!

Thanks! I have been reading a lot about the egg drop Soup, are you able to have the egg or just the broth? I did try the cream of chicken and added the minced chicken but I wasn't a fan. Will have to try the other suggestions.

You eat the egg. It makes a ribbon like cooked egg in the broth. I also made a big pot of Paula deens chicken noodle but left out the noodle, I would just purée my serving in a magic bullet blender. THAT was the best. So flavorful and yummy. So much better than canned Soups.

Congratulations on your surgery! I found egg drop Soup to be very satisfying. Also there is a potato leek soup made by Imagine that comes in a carton. I loved that. You will find your go-to foods for this stage. My surgeon described full liquids as those which would slide off a plate if you held it up. Thinned out hot Cereal, etc. I grooved on Popsicles made by MinuteMaid -- soft lemonade. I didn't mind having a little sugar as I was having few calories overall and I don't do artificial sweeteners.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
