How long was the list to schedule your surgery?

How many weeks or months did you have to wait to be able to have "your" date for surgery?

I'm just wondering since I see that some people are able to schedule 2weeks or have to schedule for 2 months out.

I was scheduled 6 wks after my first appt. The surgeon I use schedules the surgery even before you have insurance approval.

I decided to have surgery on 08/21/13. My surgery date was 11/14/13.

There were many factors - insurance was submitted in early-September and declined (I expected this). I contacted the doctor I was researching for self-pay and started his process of paperwork, labs he needed, etc. In late-September I scheduled the 11/14 date. I could have selected a date 2 weeks earlier, but 11/14/13 was better for me.

My surgeon does surgeries every Thursday. I was approved on a Tuesday and had surgery the next Thursday (8-9 days out.) All I needed was to be able to get in my two pre-surgical appointments (one with them, one with my PCP) and do the 5 day liquid diet.
