No. You need to be getting 8-10 glasses a day. That's a minimum of 64oz

What else are you consuming?

64oz is total liquid consumed as a min requirement.

Thanks, but how are you getting this much in ? Isnt it just 4 ounces at a time? If I drink more will I stretch my stomach? I must have zoned out when this subject was mentioned. Before surgery I was getting in 64 ounces. Thanks, again for answering so promptly,I really appreciate it.

Sip sip sip. It will clear your stomach in 5-10 minutes. You should be taking a sip just about every minute at first. It is your full time job your first two weeks post-op. Try cold and warm and see which one your sleeve likes best. Watered down fruit juice, broth, and other beverages count as liquid too -- even your Protein Shakes.

At 2.5 months out you don't need to worry about 4 ounces at a time. Drink as much as you can. If you drink too much you won't stretch your sleeve. It will just come back up. And you will remember the feeling for next time.

I can say I ALWAYS have some liquid in my hand. Isopure is my goto drink. Itty bitty sips every minute. If I go to fast my pain let's me know. I took not going back to the hospital for dehydration overly seriously. I have been lucky that I can easily get 100+oz in a day if I spend all my time working on it.

Once I return to work this will get tougher for me.

I've heard various amounts. I do my best to get 64oz., but usually wind up with about 42 oz. it's harder in the winter time. I don't think we sweat as much, so the need isn't as great. I make it a goal to drink a lot of Water when I'm driving to and home from work. I also drink on my breaks as much as I can.

I say trust your instincts. If we truly listen to our bodies....it tells us what we need. :-)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
