Has anyone else gone through this? The constant coughing jolts the band and is quite painful to the healing stomach muscles. Not a good time. ????

this virus that is making it's rounds is horrible. i had it last month and my doctor gave me some cough syrup with vicodin in it. it surpressed my cough enough to be able to sleep. my cough subsided before i finished the first little bottle. good luck. and i hope you heal fast.

I'm actually in the same boat looking for answers too. I'm 12 days post op and have the upper respiratory / cold symptoms. Coughing hasn't bothered my band/stomach (yet). I'm pretty miserable though.

Day 4 I finally have some relief. Thank God for the Z PAC and robitussin DM. The coughing really scared me. I hadn't really coughed since surgery and this was constant and hard coughing. My doctors appointment for my first fill is 1/7. I guess if I am in no pain, I just assume nothing has moved or has been damaged. Do they do any barium or ultrasound on your first fill to make sure it's still in place?

I finally started the z-pack yesterday and I'm starting to feel better too. I still have a bad cough but it's getting better. Terrible headache today though .

I think it depends on your specific surgeon if they use barium or ultrasound for the first fill. Glad you're feeling better.
