YES, YES,YES! I'M FREEZING ALL THE TIME, NOW. It's so weird how some things hurt some and not others. (aka, the straw) I guess that's why the doctor's say don't use it. I've heard a lot of people say that it hurts them, just not me. But, I also never had pain, or nausea, or any problem drinking really. I love that I had this surgery and wouldn't change a thing.

It is logical that we would be more prone to feeling cold after losing fat. It is certainly the case for me. I moved to Florida so I haven't tested it out to the max yet. Polar bears have great layer of fat as one of the ways to survive the brutal arctic weather.

I can remember as a skinny boy in Iowa being miserably cold and as a fat adult hardly needing a coat ...all winter... in Ohio.

The whole straw thing cracks me up. I was given straws in the hospital and still use them. It is in my surgeon's manual that they are fine to use. And yet straws just set some folks off lol. Since day one I've been getting in at least 64 oz (some days closer up 120). My surgeon is thrilled with my progress and so am I.

I am happy that you can use a straw, but my Dr. told me no straws, and no carbinated Water. It may be that our Drs. are in different areas in the country. My Dr., is in Tyler, Texas. Gmanbat it doesnt get super cold here in Lufkin, Texas the coldest its gotten so far is29 degrees. We have a lot of humidity here, so its a damp cold.

I follow what my surgeon and NUT tell me to do. I figure there's a reason that they have doctorates and I do not.

This site could use a little drama again, imo.

So true. I'm FREEZING ALL THE TIME NOW! I moved to Georgia from Ohio 4 years ago. Now my heat is constantly set to 73+.

I'm not trying to cause any drama, if I came off sounding like I was I apoligize to everyone because that was'nt the case. I was just saying that Dr.'s in different places have different protacals that they go by.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
