Feeling guilty after eating!

Recommended Posts

Every single time I eat I have these guilty feelings like every bite is going to harm me in every way now, crazy because before I would eat without a care but now it's just I feel so disgusted with eating any thing really unless it's completely healthy... Does anyone else have these feelings before surgery???

Guilt has its place... but if you're doing what your doctor instructed, stick to that and feel no guilt over any approved food. We're still allowed to enjoy life. If not, I would never have done this.

Just talked to my nutritionist Thur about this exact same thing so was glad to see u post this! It was helpful talking to her and also being able to whip out my app my fitness pal and actually show her exactly what i had been eating and get her input. I can say that was pretty helpful. She told me the goal is to make good choices from here on out but also to be able to live and eat normally also. It's all about done balance.

Yea I have to admit my choices have not been all good, I love to snack and especially that I quit smoking I can say my appetite has gotten a little bigger, but I am trying to work on it! I just hated that guilty feeling... I'm glad I'm not the only one wit these feelings so I can feel normal again!

I had that same talk with my nut.. I think mine stems from not wanting to regain the weight and the portion looks like sooo much! She said its all in my head and that it very common after this type if surgery to have those kinds of feelings

If I go out to a restaurant or stop at a fast food place which only consists of subway for me. I always feel guilty I feel like "why did I eat that" the truth is sometimes we can't cook or prepare something 100% healthy the key is if you are going to eat something you know is bad or you shouldn't then just work out a little harder the next time. Keep your body in balance. Don't feel guilty yes we have had surgeries to correct ourselves but you still need to live your life. Eating bad once in awhile will keep you sane just don't make bad habits and stay conscious of what you are doing.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
