Today was the first day my weight was down! :)

I had sleeve surgery on 12-9-13. Was I the only on that came home from the hospital weighing more than the morning of surgery? I was up 13 pounds after my 2 days in the hospital. Today is the first day that my scale shows that I have lost weight! woo hoo. Down 5 pounds, I'll take it!

Congratulations on your surgery. Most people leave the hospital with few pounds of Water weight from all of the IV fluids they pump into you. I didn't weigh myself right away because I knew this and didn't want to be discouraged. But, when I did a week or so later, I was down 8 lbs and then dropped another 5 in the next couple of days. It is pretty common and you seem to be on the right track. Good luck!

I'm six days post op and I lost my first pound today. I can take slow as long as it's steady lol!

I just had my final surgeon's visit yesterday, with a surgery date of 12/23. He told me to have someone hide the scale when I leave for the hospital and not let me have it for at least a week after I come home. He said I will gain at least ten pounds from IV fluids and to not get on the scale for at least a week, and then to only weigh myself once a week after that. He also said that I should not necessarily expect that dreaded 3rd week stall, and that if I keep my protein to about 80 grams a day, the hair loss should at least be minimized.
