It may be too low! You better be careful with that do you have a blood pressure machine at home?

That's a great idea! I don't know why I didn't think of it myself. I checked it this morning and it's 110/86, which is lower than it was pre-surgery with bp meds. I'll email my doctors about it today. It was in the normal range in the hospital without meds. Thanks!

Hello all. I am a December gastric bypass post op. I originally had the gastric sleeve surgery on September 2nd 2013. I was having horrible acid reflux that was resulting to me aspirating gastric acid almost every night. So, I just had a revision surgery to the gastric bypass on December 10th 2013.

Welcome! I'm so sorry you've had to endure two of these surgeries. I hope all goes well for you this time.

Hello post op'ers,

I had my surgery the 12-16 and came home the day. I have no complaints, pains, or questions. Life is good for me now. I hope that everyone else is fairing well to.

No meds is that with you taking meds? It sounds perfect but it could be dropping below that with meds ! Glad I reminded you! I have a blood pressure machine on the way! ;)

I'm taking bp meds. And cholesterol meds and blood thinners. I asked my surgeon at the hospital if I could quit my meds. He said he wanted me to continue until my after surgery appointment on the 27th. So that's what I'm doing. How did your appointment go?

Great news! I'm only down about 38 since starting last July. But 26 of that loss happened since my surgery on the 10th! I've been averaging about a two pound loss per day, without trying. But I'm not hungry. I have to force the liquid "meals" and Water drinking. Are you having trouble with that? I'm dealing with nausea and gas too.

God yes I have gas bad and still quite abit of left side pain. And the liquids got old real fast. I get them all in but it is a struggle everyday. I even added sf popsicle and cream of chicken Soup to help

Me too! I've also added strained cream Soups, sf popsicles, sf puddings and non-fat yogurt. I also try to get in a Protein Shake each day. It's still so BORING! Generic gas x, liquid Tylenol, and milk of magnesia have become mainstays. I'm hoping my need for this stuff reduces. The weight loss is great. But I did this to reduce my medication needs, not increase them.

I am doing better with the meds. They told me to stop metformin and celexa. Now I just got to work on bp and I hope I get off it soon. I have been taking children's benadryl to help sleep. I don't regret it cause way I was going was terrible so even all this learning the new ways is better than my old ways

Good to know. There's still hope for me.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
