Protein Shakes Vs Food On Pureed Diet

I am 13 days post op and I have noticed that I seem to get really full really fast drinking my protein shakes. But when I eat food (2-3 oz of chicken salad, scrambled eggs, etc), I don't feel as full or nearly as uncomfortable as I do when I have a protein shake. What gives?

are you waiting 30 minutes after eating before you drinking anything?

Yes, I'm waiting the necessary time. It's just that it takes me 20 minutes to eat and an hour or more to get a protein shake down and I get full to the point of discomfort.

depends on how much protein you are getting from your meals vs your protein drink. I've always found that before surgery, protein drinks gave me a feeling of fullness more than real food did. I figured it was because of the higher amounts of protein.
