Hello everyone today is a new day :) I feel great and today I'm leaving to the Marriott here in Tijuana :) they took my IV out and I'm drinking juice and gathorade :)

That's great. We are going out shopping today if you need anything let me know. My room number is the same as it was in the hospital 306. How funny.

Re-NUDE, yes band removal and VSG in the same surgery. Dr Hanna does these as an outpatient procedure.

Debate66- AMAZING! wow, I wish I could have mine as outpatient. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Please keep us all posted on your progress. Cant wait to join you on the losers bench

Does it hurt to get the drain out?

Just got back from my last surgical consult. I'm good to go on the 20th. He said no Foley Cath, no drain and no swallow test. He does it all while he's in there. Also will repair hernia and remove gallbladder if ultrasound shows stones. He thinks I will just have one overnight stay. He said I am doing great and expects me to breeze through! I am praying it goes as he said! It's my first hospital stay since birth!

Just wondering what others brought in their overnight hospital bag? I don't want to bring too much and have the tendency to go overboard.

Just wondering what others brought in their overnight hospital bag? I don't want to bring too much and have the tendency to go overboard.

My wife just asked me that exact same question...didn't even think about that. So busy thinking about the surgery itself and the after-results, didn't even ponder the thought of what to bring to the hospital. I was told to plan for an overnight stay, and also told that I'll be doing alot of walking around...I'm thinking a loose pair of sweats and slippers, toothbrush/toothpaste, maybe some music if I can't sleep, or something to read. I heard someone mention lip balm is an essential. And I'm wondering if sugar-free mints would be allowed?

Day 1 postop and feeling fabulous! I'm meeting my Fluid and Protein goals. Pain is minimal, only around the big incision where they took the port, lapband, and excised stomach out. I have 5 incisions. No nausea at all today. My hubby and I can't believe how great I'm feeling. I hope all of you have a similar experience. I've read a wide range of outcomes.

Cheers!

Deb

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
