30-Day Plank Challenge: Who Is In For This One?

Recommended Posts

52 seconds today. Crapped out early. I think I might need to try this with shoes. My feet keep slipping. Are y'all doing It with shoes? Or bare feet?

Yes, I do planks with shoes on. Always have from day 1. Might I add that doing planks with cross train or lifting shoes really helps (make sure it has a solid toe box). Just started trying this a few days ago with my new lift training shoes and it makes it so much easier to feel planted and stable on the floor (surprise - burpees, squats and jumping lunges got way easier and more Fluid also) . Maybe planks would work even better with cowboy boots on! Just sayin...

Just coz I live in Tx you assume I have cowboy boots? :)

Good advice will try with shoes. Didn't bring anything but foo foo shoes on this road trip unfortunately.

I plank barefooted at home, but my feet have to be on the bare floor...if they're on a rug, they slip. Also, when I first started last month, I was keeping my feet too far apart. I asked my trainer to check my form one day & he said to keep my feet as close together as I can...which of course makes it harder, but more effective.

You're telling me I can't just roll over in bed and try it on the soft soft mattress? Dang! :)

Sure you can...you just have to warn R that you're only interested in planking. ;)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
