I agree OD, 5:2 IS maintenance eating and I think when my body has lost all the weight it wants to lose, it will stop losing, I just hope my body can agree to not do that until 129#!!!! ^_^ Also, you said you gain weight easily, me too, and you know there is a physiological reason for that, right? This is why I am such a firm believer in Lipo or other plastics being a part of our recovery - we have more fat cells than the NeverFats. They may be empty but they put us at a ridiculous disadvantage for gaining weight, so they must be eradicated!

OD, have you explored alternative eating? I love meat, total coyote, but because of my autoimmune stuff, I am learning a lot about "raw" cuisine and it is incredibly healthful and tasty and has tought me that we don't have to miss out or deprive ourselves, just play with the ingredients! I mean heck, you can have truffles and cake for goodness sake, via Eggface's Protein recipes ;)

Globe, what is alternative eating?

It's so much easier since I don't have a man in my life right now. I can live on Protein shakes quite easily as I hate to mess up the kitchen.

Thanks everyone. It's not going to be easy to maintain 135 I can tell. I can live with 135-137. I am glad it was only 15. I've heard of people gaining back more. It's way harder to lose than right after surgery.

I consider alternative eating to be whatever deviates from the SAD - Standard American Diet, and also isn't just a meat or no meat thing. Paleo, Raw, Nourishing Traditions, AIP, Wahl's Protocol, etc.

Congrats to you OD! 5:2 has truly been a life and "sleeve" saver for me too! It's now a way of life and I don't stress about things like before now that I know I CAN and will lose/maintain. With a firm plan and program, knowing how much I can eat and logging everything, keeps me on the straight and narrow. Well, most of the time! Yes, I do allow myself the occasional treat and enjoy myself when out and about and I think that's what it is all about! Learning to live a good, healthy lifestyle and enjoying life!

I never thought I would see 135 lbs again. Everyone says there is a bounce back and I was trying to get used to the idea since I could not seem to lose any of the weight I regained.

I've had really good success with the 5:2 way of eating. It helped me from grazing and snacking. I don't know why really, because I could have just given up and started grazing and snacking again. I was so sad though, that there were so many clothes that I loved that I coudn't wear anymore. So I followed the rules of the diet and slowly lost my 15 lb regain.

Now I know that even though I am in maintenance, I have to keep following the original rules of being sleeved. Protein first, veggies and only good carbs if there is room ( and there never is) Treats and Snacks need to be a rare thing not as part of my regular meal plan.

Thank God for the sleeve. I still have good restriction if I eat what I am supposed to eat and not chips and cookies!

I noticed ur name. Do u live in Oregon? Who did ur surgery? I went to Dr Tersigni is Coos Bay. I recently moved to So Ca and I miss Or. I lived in Medford. Where do u live?

Congrats on reaching ur goal. I have about 20 more but I will eventually get there I hear the last 20 r the hardest.

WTG!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
