Any February 2014 Sleevers?

Recommended Posts

I'm thinking finally having a period is helping me along. I've got some true poop rumblies going on in my abdominal area. I'm hoping for some poops when I get home from school.

;) I love that we're all in in the same situation and cam talk about poop!

I just finished my first post op Insanity workout! I feel awesome! It felt so great to push myself that hard again! One thing I did notice though, my compression capris and top don't compress like they used to! I guess that's a good problem to have! How is everyone doing? What do you do to exercise?

Won't be cleared to do anything but walk until Thursday. I'm going to add in beginners yoga and the elliptical.

5 weeks out today... Just started exercising. Walked a mile and a half and burned 200 calories.. I'm only eating about 700 so burning 200 works for me. Down 27 lbs since surgery and 42 lbs total!!

Threw up today for the first time. Need to find some new Multi Vitamins. Any recommendations. I bought the chewables from Bariatric Advantage. Instantly nausea. No bueno.

Make sure u take them with food. I've found that all bariatric Vitamins make me sick. I bought Centrum flavor bursts. They taste great and I don't get sick from them.

I had surgery on 2/10. I am loosing so slowly. I am discouraged. I lost 21 lbs before surgery and 27 since my sleeve. I have been so lucky that I have never had pain, gas or nausea. The only thing is that I am still so tired. I take a nap almost every day! My husband is the only one that has even mentioned that he can tell I'm loosing weight. I have been able to get into a couple of pairs of jeans that I couldn't before but I guess I am just impatient! I want to be able to go into Old Navy too!!!

I'm a slow loser too. I had surgery 2/17 and have only lost 20 since then (lost 30 pre-op). But I just keep pluggin away. Was in size 22-24 clothes, 2x and now I'm fitting into 18s and XL.

Thanks... My brain still doesn't recognize the loss. I always text my mom and say "is this what I actually look like or is the mirror making me look thinner than I am?" Hard to comprehend sometimes!

I can relate. I am super happy about my weightloss so far 37 total (27lbs post op) , but I am still trying to adjust to my new reflection. Everyone who has seen me, has told me I look great, but until I get used to it in my head I just feel a little in limbo. I guess like everything else, it'll take time to get used to it. The problem is that we will continue to lose weight so by the time you adjust the one image in your head of what your size is, you will be much smaller. BTW, For the first time since my surgery 2/28, I tried on the clothes I put away because they were too tight. All of them were super loose! I don't know what anyone else is doing, but I refuse to buy any new clothing. I feel like its a waste. Not sure how the summer is going to go. Guess I will be wearing baggy clothes. LOL but y'all wish me luck.

Question: has anyone read a book about life after surgery? Any recommendations?

There's one my program suggests and I think it's called the emotional first aid kit: life after weight loss surgery. You can get it on Amazon.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
