Any February 2014 Sleevers?

Old Navy pants have never fit me right. Maybe when I'm a smaller person. Lol. You guys are making me sad they have never worked for me.

So I had my most stressful week since surgery. We are having earthquakes left and right and I was rear ended on the freeway today while driving my dads luxury sport car. Awesome. Even more awesome? Girl who hit me has no insurance, car isn't registered and she's on probation. What a peach!!! I was so stressed out and it's interesting that my first instinct wasn't to eat! I am just now realizing it and I'm so proud of myself. But I am also so over today!

Oh, Jen! That's terrible and awesome all at the same time!

And honestly, I wasn't able to ever wear anything but either than size 18 or 20 old navy jeans, or plus size (which never worked for me) so I guess it'll be interesting to see how that works now.

I LOOOOVE old navy. I buy tops and jewelry three and their little girls clothes are some of the CUTEST!!! I always buy too much for my baby when I'm there. But their pants have never been my friend. Lol.

I'm so glad you're both fine! Cars can be fixed, sometimes people can't be...

I love me some old navy. And the gap outlet. And I'm so excited for this summer. Both places have such cure stuff and fun colors! I've bought 3 hoodies, mint green, kinda a bright tiffany blue, and a coral one. Im totally obsessed with these colors right now! They're all an xxl, but I havent been able to buy a zip up hoodie from there in probably 3 or 4 years! They fit, but are just "snug" enough that they look fine now, but I should be able to wear them for a minute yet. :) I'm much more excited that it colors though, and not black. Haha.

And I love shopping for my friends kids there, oh man. SUCH cute stuff!

YAY everyone!!!. We are all getting smaller, Jen, sorry to hear about your stressful day, but so glad you and your BFF are ok.

I too went shopping this weekend, and am also down from a 26/28 to a 22/24 pants. And from 22/24 to a 18/20 top. Plus I am planning to attempt to make some alterations to a few of my other dress pants so I can coninue to wear them a bit longer.

Jeez, Jen, that sucks! I'm so sorry. But they're right, it could've been way worse. Thank goodness y'all are ok.

Oklahoma has had so many earthquakes that it's unreal. Not huge, ground-ripping fissures, but about a 4.5 or so on the Richter. They seem to be everywhere. And it is scary and stressful.

Leigh Anne, it is pretty awesome. I'm getting more and more motivated. I'm starting to feel and look better so I'm a happy girl.

Guys! So, another nsv! I tried on a pair of size 20 Calvin Klein jeans I bought 5 years ago that never really fit that awesome when I bought em. THEY FIT ME PERFECTLY NOW! So I went from a 28-30 to a 20 in 5.5 weeks! Holy sh!t. I can't even believe it. They're in the wash now (they were in my closet and I'm not even sure I washed em after the last time I wore them) and I'll post a before and today pic when they're dry.

I'M SO EXCITED!

Ours was a 5.1 but was only half a mile deep so we really felt it. And they say we have had 150 quakes in the last 24 hours. I have only felt 5-6 of them. But that's enough for me. It's so different when you have a kid. I just look around her crib and think "what could fall on her?"

I love this!!! Hooray!

My bestie and I were together for 11 hours yesterday and she said she wants to have the sleeve. I told her about the wonderful people I have met on here and encouraged her to sign up for the site. I know I wish I would have gotten connected on here sooner.

It made me think of you and your bestie.

Seriously. That's awesome! It is like me and my bestie. I know for me its nice to have someone who is enough ahead of me in this whole thing, to guide me, give me food suggestions, etc. And I imagine its nice for her to have someone that is going through what she is/has. And my other bff is starting the process. She has her psych eval Thursday. She's my real partner in crime (my bff that's had it lives an hour and a half away) and she's always been big. I want her to experience what I am. The happiness of seeing the pounds come off. The pants getting smaller. The overall just feeling GOOD. About life and yourself.

Yay to us, and our future bffs that will join us!

As I am growing up... My besties and I are growing apart :(

:( I'm so sorry!

I was worried that the bff that's starting the process this week and I would grow apart. She loves to eat and eats far too much all too often. I'm hoping she's ready for this... i do fear if for some reason she doesn't follow through with this, that our friendship will suffer. Her life revolves around food, and since surgery, mine hasn't. And as in lose wight and can do more active things and she cant.....

All my dearest friends are smaller than me so part of my motivation was tired of being the the fat friend. They have all been very supportive. I love all of them so much & they are all trying to understand.

Those that I work with that I would have lunch with that want to talk I invite them to the gym with me. Since I can't eat out and I have unlimited guest passes @ my gym they meet me on my my new terms. Two if them have now signed up for the gym! I'm encouraging people I care about to "support me". They are doing me a favor. Lol. (Suckers)

I know some relationships will change but I'm working hard not to loose any of them.

Oh by the way down another 1.2 lbs this morning. Very happy the scale moving down. That is a total loss of 27.7 lbs since surgery.

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL
