Hey everyone. I know my surgery was open (not laparoscopic) but I'm still not feeling it. I can barley get up by myself still. This is horrible. I have a high tolerance for pain but I'm still soooo sore.

Just the 27?? No wonder, mine was laparoscopy and it took me at least a week to start feeling better. I had a lot of pain because the gas was trapped and I had a very hard time getting rid of it. Just wait and you will feel better, I know how it sounds but I was there, it took a little more than others but now I feel good. My surgery was 2/11 and I am still having trouble with the Protein and liquids but I keep working on it. Be positive!!

Hey guys! I am now 1 week post-op! I have lost 10 lbs since surgery 2/25! I am still on Clear Liquids and still getting to know my pouch. My first follow up with the surgeon is on Monday. I've not had too much pain and I get around and do most things by myself, except for lifting. I feel so bad for the people on here that have had trouble with straining abdominal incisions. I simply can not wait to move on to puréed diet! Also, I know my calorie intake is very low, but I can not wait to start back doing my Insanity workouts! I feel like I'm being lazy sitting on the couch! Too much ice and snow outside to do any walking. I hope that everyone continues to make strides in recovery! No one's story is the same and some have more complications than others. Just take it day by day and remember why you decided to go on this journey!

the healing seems to be going slow. He cut over the top of my other scar and maybe that's why it's so sore. It goes from my chest bone to about 8 inches down the middle of my belly. No they didn't staple. It is dissolving stitches.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
