Scales have not moved for 2 weeks! ten weeks post op

Recommended Posts

Hi! I have been stuck at the same weight for two weeks. I had my last pause in loss when I was pre menstrual and am at this time as well. have anything to do with it? I need a good week of loss as I am feeling a little down. Any advice? Something to change up? I have lost around 46 lbs in 10 weeks and was happy with that but I want that 50 so bad!!! Give me some feedback please...feeling a little down :(

Sometimes eating a high calorie meal will trick your body into something funky. It's happened to me. I had been stuck for a few wks. Then I said heck with it and ate some Pasta from market place and did my same gym routine and kicked some lbs the next day. I doubt that's probably the best way but it works

I use the My fitness pal app to track everything that goes in my mouth. It can be very enlightening. If your calories are too low sometimes increasing them by 100-200 helps. Also, changing up your exercise can help. I also find drinking more fluids helps.

If you can use the my fitness pal app. It's free and sometimes it can be an eye opener.

Thanks! I will start using it for sure :) Do you know how many calories one should have approximately. The Fluid thing makes sense as I struggled the last two weeks getting enough in. I am heading to my fitness pal now to sign up. Thanks again!

I'm sure every surgeon has their own guidelines but mine says 800-900cal a day. Trying to make 60-80grams Protein and 64oz Water. Hope this helps.

When I saw the dietician 3 weeks post op, I asked about calories too. She said about 800-1000. I'm 9 weeks out and am just making it to a little over 700. I eat 6 small meals no more then 4 oz per meal. This is what my surgeon recommends. Also 60-80 gm of Protein per day. I still do 1 Protein Shake per day. I'm rarely hungry and my energy is good.

It is normal in fact you will hit many stalls through out your journey. .I up my Protein intake and sometimes up my work out too...try eating fish. .or any lean protein. ..

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
