Changes coming to Vertical Sleeve Talk?!

Recommended Posts

Did you guys get this email too?

VerticalSleeveTalk.com! In a few days, VerticalSleeveTalk.com and the other Weight Loss Surgery Boards (WLSBoards) will join together and transition to BariatricPal.com! We’re excited to be leading the movement to support weight loss and health for all members of the weight loss surgery community!

I'm kind of bummed. Every other website has combined wls boards... I loved that vertical sleeve talk was just for sleevers.... I hope it doesn't change the boards too much. Do you think we will lose the boards and forums already posted? Or will they carry over?

I got it, and I would guess that everybody registered here got it. I don't really know what to expect, but I guess we will soon see what all is different.

Yep I got it. To me it does not seem like a big deal at all. Seems we will have a much bigger community on here which I do not think is a bad thing.

Yes this is a change and it to me all of us on here are embracing a change whether we have been sleeved or are waiting to be sleeved. So just embrace this change and run with it!

I just hope that the site will load faster. I get really tired of having to wait for the next info to load.

They are changing it over tonight. The VST forum will largely be the same, but there will be other parts of the site dedicated to other types of surgery, and a place we can all talk together as well.

EEEEK! Looks like we lost the rants and raves forum. HA!

It's been relocated under General Weight Loss Surgery Forums. You can click here to check it out.

Thanks, Alex.

Can we no longer see how many likes a post has gotten? Are tickers are being worked on?

Is there a way to add differentiation between surgery types for different members? It's bizarre to read a post and then realize they are a bander/bypass/etc. and that their entire viewpoint is different and doesn't apply to me. I am positive they feel the same, too. This might be really confusing for people who are new to the surgery. I vote for sleevers to get a sparkly ring around their names. Something pink and glittery. Others may not agree, but I thought of it first, so...

Great questions!

We're aware of all these issues (likes, tickers, surg types etc.) They will all be ironed out over the next few days.

Please let us know if you find any other issues or have other great suggestions.

So about those pink sparkles... I prefer HOT pink, not powder pink.

I'm getting error messages on some of the forums I was involved in... Like one says it has 11 pages of replies, but only let's you read up to page 9 or replies and gives me an error for pages 10 and 11....

Did the Obama care people set up the website :) JK? It is very buggy.
The home screen locks up. It took me 4 tries to finally log on.

Please provide me with an example forum and URL.

The December 2013 Vertical Sleeve monthly support group is a perfect example. Shows 40 pages, I can get to page 30, and then I start getting the error message. I have posted twice on that thread (from the web page) and they show up on the web page but not on the iPad app. All of these errors have definitely been happening for me on the iPad app...

There was another thread in the December 2013 grouping as well that showed 3 pages of responses, I can get to the bottom of page 2 and then get the error message. (I think it is the random thoughts thread)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
