The last book I read was "Tread Lightly: Form, Footwear, and the Quest for Injury-Free Running"..... A history of the evolution of running shoes. Yes I am that much of a geek.

You remind me of me. I'm currently reading a book called "Just Ride" about getting he most enjoyment out of bicycling without turning into one of those Lycra nerds you see running around like they are in the Tour de France! I always read books about new hobbies and interests.

Jane.. I did the same thing after I had Lipo 20 years ago. Took me forever to not want to wear them.

Yes me too! I had this exact experience w/ lipo 15 yrs ago.

I ended up wearing the compression for probably another couple months at least past when I was cleared to go without. For me I felt almost like my midsection was made of jello... like it was vulnerable or would fall out or something without its "mold" to hold it in place.

It was totally bizarre and very uncomfortable....

Omg I love Wheel of time! One of my employees is very active in the forum/gathering of WoT events, organizes their conferences, has set up a charity for it, etc. She got us into it. My husband has read them all, I've read about 7 of them. Game of thrones, I have to tell you, I read the first one and started the second. Then I realized that I pretty much didn't give a crap if any of those characters lived or died so I decided it was time to read something else :) it just didn't appeal and frankly I didn't find them well written. Before I got addicted to this forum, I used to read for 3-4 hours a day, so I'd end up reading 2-3 books a week. Right now, I'm reading Allegiant, Amy Tan's new book, and good calories, bad calories. But I spend too much time in here :(

I read Good Calories Bad Calories years ago. It makes sense and I have tried to eat that way, but pre-sleeve it just triggered me to binge. I have to say that I think Gary Taubes is a fame whore and he sure acts a lot more like an expert (which he is not) than a journalist (which he is). I do think the sleeve or RNY guides us toward that way of eating anyway. Oh and that is a fuckeding huge book.

One of my favorite books I have read in the last few years is a huge biography of Winston Churchill. I did it as an audiobook and it took me like a month but I loved every minute of it and I now have such a crush on him. LOL

GOT - the best series I have ever read. Loved Wheel of Time, but the ending was just Bleh.

That's ok because it will take me years to get through them! I would also like to finish the Discworld series before Pratchett dies. I came to it late and I'm only at book 10 so I don't have high hopes. I love his writing but I do find it a bit slow to get through.

I have been feeling like a raging wimp because a week after my gallbladder surgery I am still having a lot of incision pain from one of the incisions (in my navel) and it actually hurts to walk because my belly jiggles around. I haven't run and I had to leave worm early Monday. Well I decided to change the dressing yesterday and it is infected. :( I swabbed it with q-tips and dettol (like a cross between bactine and Lysol lol) several times (burned like hell), let it dry, and put one of those breathable dressings on it. I guess I need to call the surgeon and he will probably put me on antibiotics. So annoyed but at the same time I feel sorry for my navel as I have had at least 6 laparoscopic procedures through it by now. I also think the surgeon might have actually sewed part of it closed. Not sure WTF that is about or if it is just stuck together with glue or something. Clearly he should have used shittedable staples.

Sorry girlie that just sounds horrible!

Give them a call before it gets out of hand :(

I sneezed hard... twice ... this morning and was reminded THAT IS WHY I like the tight garments. It is no problem, no pain until something like THAT happens.

LOLOL....we are indeed 2 peas in a pod cause I have that book on my shelf. The author owns Rivendell Bicycle and frankly.....those are the coolest bikes ever built. It is my long time dream to own one. His website is like pure bike porn to me.

Feeling nostalgic today...

So I Would like to propose a moment of silence in remembrance of an old friend. Our long meandering threads seem to have turned into a dimly lit road to nowhere... Our ability to easily help each other navigate our unique waters have been washed away with a tsunami of confusion. I will light a candle in hopes of your return my friend. In other words?

Alex!

Jane....I really thought I was going to be the same way. I thought I was going to be wearing my binder for months. Instead, I've only worn it once in the last 2 weeks and that was after the first day I went swimming. I could feel the swelling so I slept in the binder that night.....next morning, swelling gone. If I overdo it again, I'll put it back on to keep the swelling at bay. That's the best thing it can do for me right now. But other than that, I'm happy to leave it at home and wear more form fitting clothes.

Butter said;

"Yeah, the merger may have been a death blow. But more likely, it's like an ice age. It will kill off all the major life forms, but gradually new ones will come along who didn't know what it was like before and it will repopulate."

To that I say shitED we are all dinosaurs!!! It's the purge!!! :P

It's just like Facebook. Every time they make a change, everyone whines, complains and hates it. But then, after they get used to the change life is good again. Things will get better guys, Alex did not do this to make everyone miserable. Managing four websites at once was a huge chore. Now, with everything combined on one site, they will have more time to enable more features everyone has been asking for. You just have to be patient and give the team time to work through everything. Positive feedback and suggestions are helpful to them. General complaining without offering specific reasons why and suggestions are not. Can't we all just get along? LOL

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
