I was weak, ate Halloween candy. Luckily, Sleevette came to the rescue and I'm still under 1000 calories for the day. It's almost 9 and I'm eyeing the turkey meatballs in the freezer...I think that's a good sign.

I'm on day 2 of my pre-op diet.

My husband and son went out late this afternoon to buy the candy and I haven't seen it. I don't know where it is. I don't want to know where it is. I told them there should be no candy in the house after this evening...dispose of every last little Butterfinger (my personal favorite).

Instead for my meal tonight, I will have a fillet and some green Beans. And I will dream of the Butterfinger.

McButterPants, when you get to the point of making your own Protein shakes, I found a great recipe for a Butterfinger flavored Protein shake. It's a little spendy in terms of calories and carbs so I only make it once a week, and budget carefully in terms of calories and carbs that day, but it's so good!

1 c. Hood Calorie Countdown nonfat milk

1 scoop unjury chocolate splendor Protein powder (or similar)

2 T. PB2 with chocolate

1 T. sugarfree, fat free instant butterscotch pudding mix

Blend & enjoy!

Numbers: 205 calories, 30 g. Protein, 20 g. carbs, 1 g. fat, 2 g. Fiber.

I read an interesting article from a trainer... It was titled PERSPECTIVE. She once had an eating disorder and goes on to say how workouts should not be used as a punishment for the foods we have eaten, and we shouldn't feel guilty about the food we eat. This is a different perspective but one that rings quite true. We have after all punished ourselves for years over the foods we have eaten and where did it get us? This is my food for thought today.

Ok I don't care! Because I must shout it from the roof tops!

I ATE NO candy LAST NIGHT!!

None not even when left alone with it after everyone went to bed. It wasn't even a struggle.

I am VERY proud of myself :D

I am a secret binger so this is a major victory!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
