Have read numerous comments of people complaint that they cannot get their Protein in. Has anyone tried the Protein Shots? I read about some that have 50 of protein for a little over 3 ounces. Are they bad???? I am presurgery and just trying to find a good protein.

I didn't try then because the reviews are so bad. People on Amazon as well as here said they tasted horrid. But you might find one you like. I didn't try these either but more people here said they could tolerate Isopure Clear liquids with Protein than the shots.

Also though there's some evidence to suggest our bodies only absorb 35 gms of Protein at a time so hey may also be overkill.

I do the whey Protein Shots sometimes. It's usually on Sundays which is the only day when I sleep in late which throws off my schedule & daily routine. It has 42 grams and it kind of taste like cough Syrup. I only like the watermelon and normally drink Water afterwards.

Do you mean protein shots like New Whey protein shots at Walmart? If so here's some reading to do about why these are no good- http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/74651-new-whey-liquid-protein-42g/#entry761245

I recently started drinking them. I don't mind the bad taste. My pain killer post-op tasted worse lol... Only have it when I need some extra Protein. And I usually have half of one at a time.

I have learned if I take the why Protein and mix it with Water and my mio it kinda takes that cough syrup taste away

Sadly I bought the ones my surgeons office recommended and I got them 3 days after I developed an allergy to whey Protein.. Super!

They are the PROFECT Protein Shots

I'd like to say I know how they work and taste but I have 11 vials just chillin in the kitchen.. There went 30 bucks ....

My Nutritionist said not to use them, that they are not a source of good Protein, because they contain the wrong kind of protein, and most of what they contain isn't absorbed into the body. She said only to use protein sources with whey protein isolate. I use Isopure low carb, and they are 25g of protein for 6 ounces, 30g if you mix it with milk instead of Water.< /p>

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
