A long 15 day wait.........United Health Care

Hi everyone! This is more of a prayer for continuing patience. On October 2nd I turned 40 years old, Yeah!!! I am a wife of six years and a stay-at-home mom of a five year old boy, Ty. I am also a proud Cancer Survivor of four years this month. I have been dealing with my weight from the beginning. Starting off as a 10 pound baby to being labeled a "Husky" kid. My HW this year was 289, my CW is 263 and I'm 5 9". I have been contemplating this surgery for two years. I have sleep apnea and border line diabetic. I have finally completed my long 6 month supervised physician diet, psych evaluation, NUT visits and every test they threw at me. My last visit was on October 11th. Now the dreadful wait. I have already called my nurse coordinator at UHC to verify that I have completed everything. Up till this point I haven't had any major issues. I have given up the pop, the straws, my chocolate, eating off of small saucers, almost of all the carbs (I have my week moments), and get in my exercise. But this waiting for an approval or denial is killing me softly. How did you make it through?

I wish I could provide some concrete guidance . . . my insurance coordinator submitted and I didn't even know it, I called to check on when it would be submitted and she told me, oh hey, you were approved this morning!

Anyway, I just wanted to say, it looks to me like you are doing a fantastic job getting ready for surgery. Keep up with your exercise and your good eating during this time and at some point you'll be able to look back and think it all went by in a blur. Good luck! :)

Hi everyone! I am also a proud Cancer Survivor
Congratulations cancer survivor. You made it this far another week is nothing in comparison to everything you've been through. Good luck on your sleeve journey and many blessings to you.

Thank you ladies! Your right, I've came this far to crumble now. I can tell that I've changed. Last year if I was stressed I would have turned to my pantry. Now I turn to yard work.
