You are looking great Gamergirl! So much progress in so little time. :). Funny what you said about your boobs being more prominent now...fiddleman said something like that to me the other night. I was wearing a new t-shirt and I asked how it fit- he said it looked a bit tight. I was puzzled because it didn't feel tight at all to me. Then he said that maybe it was just because the part across my chest was "tight" and that my boobs were sticking out more! Lol. It feels nice to lead with your chest and not with your stomach anymore! Great job!

You look amazing!! I'm so glad you shared your pics!! I think this whole weight loss journey includes mostly stalls with small bits of occasional weight loss in between that add up to a large amount over time! :-)

That, is significantly noticeable!

Look how slim your legs are?!!! They're like a quarter of the size! I want legs and a stomach like that!

you look fantastic ! Less than a week now until my husband and I have the surgery ( next Tues) he has lost almost 14lb on the pre op and I have lost almost 7lb. I think this will be the norm for us I think I had better get used to him being the weight loss rock star through out this journey ha ha. I'm always checking in to see how you guys are going because your both so inspirational. Keep going your doing a great

yes get used to it and vent here not at him when he swans in, losing more than you! My husband has always been very careful not to lord it over me. I have to insist he celebrates the weight loss, because he sure does lose faster than me, and he doesn't want to upset me. i'm not upset, I'm just so dang happy for him. But he too goes through stalls. The first time, we stalled at the same time and it was easy. The next few times, one of us was losing and the other stalling.

Which is good and bad. It's good because we're doing the same plan and only one of us stalls, you know you just need to stick to the plan. Bad because you kinda want to get a high five, but you know better than to ask for one :)

Thank you! Yes I'm a little surprised at the change. My husband says my "front" and "back" stick out more even though I'm getting smaller. I think I was in total denial about my size pre-op because I was sure that was just a bad picture, bad angle, whatever.

It wasn't. It was me.

When do we see your pics?? :)

You are SO right. I've been thinking about this since you wrote it last night, and I thought, maybe if we all had this expectation, instead of thinking it would be lots of weight loss with the occasional stall, then we might be happier. After losing ONE pound in 12 days, i'm stuck again, but am starting to believe it will come off anyway.

Looking good Gamer girl, your progress is outstanding IMO. It's amazing the areas that show progress first isn't it?. I guess that's why everyone's experience is different- we all lose at different rates and in different areas.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!
