December Bandsters in March!

Could a fill kick in a MONTH after you get it??? I feel more restricted a month later and am not sure why. I'm also sick with a sinus infection and on antibiotics. Could that be a reason?

Maurdan, I bet it's the sinus infection. All of my fills I felt right away, if anything they faded a bit a few days after once the initial swelling/irritation went down...

all of you are doing great.....i have to start to excercise....i really should doat least some weights...by the time i get home and dinner ready and the kids fed, ready for bed and into bed it is about 9 or later....i know excuses but my husband works two jobs so he is not home till about 11 or later at nite....i am going to wear a pedimeter tomorrow and see how i do....well keep up the good work...Deb

Hey Deb, sounds like you might be in need of scheduling "me time" I can relate to your situation. I have 2 kids hubby wks 2 jobs, and while I dont work full time I do go to schol full time and have to run my kids all over the place. You need to evaluate your schedule and try to fit something in. If I cant make it to the Gym I do the tae boe 8 minute workout. Its not alot of time but if you try to do the excercises best you can you can get your heart rate up to burn some calories. That 8 minutes burns about 175 -200 cqlories. That could be a whole meal when you compare calories. Good luck, and I wish you the best.

MArch Challenge

No eating after 7:30

Gym 3-4 times/week

Drink more water

Hi NN32! Sounds like you are on the right track! My exercise has been lacking as well, so now I am telling myself I only have to do 20 min, then if I do more that is great, but if not, I have met my goal. Welcome back!

Maurdan - I think I need another fill too! Its just not working for me as far as restriction goes but if I take too big of a bite or eat too fast I get the golf ball in the chest feeling. But then I can snack all afternoon and not feel a thing!

Good luck to all of you on your goals!

G'day Folks :)

Been a while since I popped in. I've been quite ill for a couple of weeks.

I went for my 2nd fill 4 days ago YAY, he managed to do it at the surgery with far less prodding and poking, so no visit to the hospital @ $180 which pleases me

I feel far more restricted this time, as I can still Veryyyyyyyy Slowly only get fluids down. I can feel the weight starting to drop off already.

Reading back over the posts, looks like your all doing great CONGRATS!

My only goal for March is to eat 3 Protein meals a day and get my Fluid intake in for the day.

I also had a visit with the Knee specialist the same day. He has stated I need to stay on Sedentry Duties for a further 3 months at work, continue with the weight loss and I may escape knee surgery YAY.

So those of you walking, going to the gym etc, do a few extra rounds for me, coz I can't do it. I do however get to the pool 3 mornings a week and do Hydrotherapy/Aquarobics, toning, stretching etc.

Congrats again to all - Keep up the good work CHEERS :)

Hi Ibrahem..... I was in your shoes until last week. I was trying to lose weight first so I wouldn't hurt when exercising or, so that I would not get so tired and out of breath....kept saying tomorrow too. I was so lucky, my boss got us a stationary bike for work...has it sitting right in the middle of the office. It is a top of the line cycle with computer that tells calories burned, distance, and gives you a grade at the end of your work out. I could only do 10 minutes at the beginning, and boy did I get tired! Now I am up to 25 minutes at a time and I have even increased the resistance (so it is harder to pedal) I feel so good after a work out! It gives you more energy too! Also, I did not lose any weight this week BUT I have lost inches, today I was able to wear a pair of jeans that I could not wear last week. DID THAT FEEL GOOD! So, just get out and walk for 10 minutes, then 12 minutes, and the next thing you know it will be thirty minutes and you will feel great!

I am seriously thinking about getting a BodyBugg to help with the exercise thing. However, it's pretty expensive and I was self-pay with the band so I am trying to rationalize why I'd spend even more money when the band was supposed to do it.

Anyway, I had a NSV today. Even though I think I still eat too much, I know I'm eating less than before. Typically, I'd order a 3 plank chicken dinner with extra hushpuppies and a large soda from LJS, but today I just ordered 2 chicken planks and 2 hushpuppies (those did not go down well so they are on my do not eat list). I know it's more than I should be able to eat (which is why I really think I need a fill), but it's A LOT less than I used to eat. And I ate the chicken planks with a knife and fork instead of sucking them down. I was proud of myself.

“Best of What’s New” in Personal Health

The bodybugg™ from Apex is an intelligent calorie management system designed to provide consumers with the tools they need to reach and maintain their ideal weight. The two simple components of the bodybugg™ system – the bodybugg™ armband, a small, sleek device worn on the upper arm, and the bodybugg™ web interface – work in tandem to track exactly how many calories an individual has burned and consumed every day.

The sleek, comfortable bodybugg™ armband, developed by BodyMedia, Inc., (bodymedia.com) monitors four different data points to track calories burned with 92% accuracy. It tracks the smallest activities such as washing the dishes and playing with kids as well as every step wearers take as they walk toward the experts’ recommendation of 10,000 steps a day for optimum health.

The online bodybugg™ interface, is the heart of the weight management system. Users simply upload the data from the armband device via a wireless communicator to their PCs. The bodybugg™ program then calculates exactly how many calories have been used and displays the number of calories available for consumption to maintain weight and reach fitness goals. Customized menus are available to aid in planning nutritional meals within the parameters of each individual’s fitness plan, and an easy-to-use food-logging program with thousands of

known foods in an auto-search database makes keeping track of food intake simple.

Users have the choice of logging their meals or using the automated program that calculates the actual average calorie consumption per day on a weekly basis using the information downloaded from the bodybugg™, calorie burn, and weight. Together, the bodybugg™ armband and the web interface provide real-time status any time of the day.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water. Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
