December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

Recommended Posts

So not sure if its the anxiety, Clear Liquids, or both (probably) but I am an anxious mess. Have thrown up already and can't seem to get any sleep past three days. Tomorrow can't get here fast enough.

Good luck to everyone having surgery tomorrow! I'm getting sleeved on Thursday, and I'm already having mood swings! Ugh, I'm a mess!

Something the nurse told me at the pre-op visit… she said that women should not shave their legs or underarms the day before or day of surgery because the razor causes tiny cuts to the skin which can make you more susceptible to infection. I don't know if this applies to men shaving their face, but it would seem that it would. That was a surprise!

I was told the same thing... and last year my hubby didn't shave that morning

3 days post op and started shakes again. I hate them, all flavors, and don't know how I am going to get through the next 2 weeks.

How are you doing with that? I am having surgery on Tuesday and I am really not all that fond of them now on the pre-op diet so I am a bit nervous about next week. So far the best have been GNC's total lean - the one's that are already prepared although they are kind of pricey. A friend who went through this said to not get to attached cause what she liked before was different than after, so keep trying!

I wanted to check in with everyone, but I don't want to bring down the thread. I will just say I am 12 days out and have been unsuccessful at keeping anything down other than clear liquids. Someone up thread asked if anyone is having regrets and I will wave my hand big time. I won't drag you all down with all of the details but if you want to read what is going on with me I have a thread in post-op called "in need of support" if you are interested in reading the specifics.I don't want my negative experience to influence the choices you all have already made and worked so hard for. However, I will continue to support you all and cheer for each of your victories!

Positive thoughts for Andrew. He posted a topic that he was taken to the hospital and they found a bleed.

Thanks for the update! Hang in there, Andrew!!

well, I had my surgery and have been home for 3 days. I am on Tylenol with codine and this helps a lot with the ouch pains. my stomache hurts more so in the area where the drainage was put in. by the way, when the doc pulled it out, no pain so don't worry. getting up in the hospital was rough and ask for a pillow and put it on your stomache as you get up off the bed. the first time I took a sip of Water and got that heartattack feeling was a wow!!!! no pain but really weird. so you learn your own way of sipping your stuff. hope this helps someone...and by the way..i packed a bag and never used it...good luck all, jamalyn

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
