I am staying another night too. I want to make sure my pain is manageable on po meds. My right side hurts the most too. Doc sats its where they pull the stomach out and there are some internal stitching. The nurse told me most people stay 2 nights its rare to go home after one day. On a funny note, anyone do anything crazy on versed before the surgery? i apparently held my hands up and screamed "wooo im on a rollercoaster!!" while being wheeled to or. I also told my sister i thought i was drunk. Lol! anyone else?

My surgery was yesterday. I'm feeling very sore and I had a lot of gas pain but that is getting better as I am now getting out of bed and walking. I slept a lot yesterday. I do remember feeling drunk and asking everyone did they get a good night sleep before surgery but that's about all I can remember. Hope everyone is doing well.

. I'm taking heparin which is the same basically. It keeps us from getting blood clots.

Yes. My surgeon has everyone do them. Gave myself the first one yesterday and it wasn't as bad as I had imagined. They gave me one in the hospital and showed me how.

It's so expensive. I don't think I was ready for the pharmacist to say over 200 dollars for my prescriptions! Gotta do whatcha gotta do.

Wow I guess I am lucky! Insurance paid for most of my prescriptions. A week of Levonox was only $24

Ahhhh help!!! I'm getting more nervous than excited especially with some potential family members and co worker reactions once I start losing and begin to open up about my VSG. FIVE MORE DAYS!!! I feel confident about my decision but still thinking about all types of things. Please keep me in prayer ladies and gents and I am surely keeping everyone else in prayer as well.

Peace!!

Sandi (:

Welcome Kerroney - if you have replied to this thread, then you are officially 'subscribed'. If you have your surgery date for your sleeve surgery, pass that along, and I can add you to the list.

Also, we have another thread in the December group called the Pounds Lost thread. If you want to participate, please post there with your goal of how many pounds you want to lose through the surgery.

We're glad you're here!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
