:clap2: Hay Bandstar I just want to say thanks for starting this thread, I don't know why no one thought of this before? But I am happy that you did. :hail:

It gives us a place to come and be comfy as baybee has stated.

Hay Rainbow, The food I am able to eat is still very limited, I can eat some red meats as long not over cooked good thing I like it rare, pork it also can not be overcooked, the key for me is very small and chew. Tonight was fish and a 1/2 bake potato. I try to get veggies down but they don't do really well. a bite or two and that is enough.

Anyway, Sandy and I live up in the Hi-Desert. Hesperia, I use to work in Fontana and Cucamonga.

I have 6cc in my band, and have a good restriction, the doc. in Mexico are a little more aggressive in the fills the the doc in the us. some say that is not good others say it not. but who knows.

You will need to have more fill and I know when I got my second fill it took a few weeks to kick in.

i've been overweight since 3rd grade.. so i definately have no idea who i'll be when i'm not overweight. i've been lookin at others and the way they dress saying, i'm gonna dress like that, no like that, etc, my g/f says dress like you. and all i can say is "i dont know what me is if i'm not overweight." it will be soooooooooo nice to not have to shop at Lane (the big girl store). i mean i love lane but goodness $50 for a bra! sheesh!

I completely understand you! I have been overweight since probably the 3rd grade too. I just turned 26 and am tired of shopping at big people stores. I can't even remember ever being able to wear clothes my friends were wearing. I look at people and say 'I'm gonna have that style or dress like her'. It will be so weird to go to 'regular' people stores. I can't wait to go to Old Navy or something and pay like 19.99 for jeans instead of 49.99 like at Lane Bryant!

I got a job that has benefits that will cover the surgery. I just finished my 6-month diet program a week ago and got my psychological eval done. Only waiting on a letter of medical necessity from my doc and I can send in all this stuff to be approved!

I will be checking this thread to check in with my fellow Gay bandsters! Everyone please pray and wish me luck that my insurance company will approve me!

Trisha

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
