Stuck foods?

Recommended Posts

I have been banded for for a year and a half but 9 months of that time I was pregnant. The banded didn't give me any issues while preggo. I kept my 3cc's which the band was placed in with. I got a fill over the summer to 4cc's and nothing passed. I couldn't eat pudding or tuna so I know I was too tight and they took it out. So here Iam with 3cc in my band and I still get food stuck more frequently than I would like. I have 3 kids 4 years and under and maybe I just do t have time to eat correctly. Anyone care to go her the proper rules or eating. I feel like broccoli is a nightmare to get down, as well as potatoes.....I'm sure I'm not too tight.... Maybe I just need a review of eating

As far as eating, it's really important you take small enough bites, chew thoroughly, and pause between bites. Most doctors recommend bites the size of a fingernail (or similar) and chewing food until absolute mush. Kids and rushed or not, it's crucial to eat properly so you're not constantly stuck and get the nutrition you need.

As far as the acid reflux, that isn't a normal side effect of Depo or the band. However, it can be very dangerous with the band and lead to erosion so it's very important you talk to your doctor so he can help you resolve the problem.

Best wishes.

My GI dr told me the depo does cause digestive problems because of the hormone imbalance as if you were pregnant. Never the less I'm taking Prilosec. But things like garlic or onions still cause heartburn

I just had broccoli and chicken breast for dinner. I use a spoon from 16 Handles most of the time. I just make sure my bites are small. Sometimes, when I'm REALLY hungry, I eat while doing something else (probably not the best stragety) so THAT i can pase how often a spoonfull goes into my mouth.

It you cant eat even slider foods such as pudding (and I know you know you shouldnt be eating that at all or any slider)and have acid reflux...they are both signs of being too tight...talk with your dr. about this...you may be one that doesnt even need the 3 ccs that you were given....lucky you. but you do need to be able to eat real food that is good for you without any issues. Maybe ask to have a little removed and see how that goes. My dr tells me you should never puke, never have trouble eating and never ever not be able to get liquids down. Coughing, acid reflux, heartburn are all signs of being too tight.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
