Borderline abn ekg :-(

Recommended Posts

My surgery is scheduled for this coming Tues. But my EKG came back borderline abnormal. Have this happen to anyone? I know everyone is different and it could be thousand of things that could cause this but I need some positive thoughts. I've worked so hard for this! I'm ready and it's taken me a year fighting with my insurance! I've even met my deductible and over half my responsible portion of payment. Is this a sign or what! :-(

I have never heard of a borderline abnormal EKG. Is that what they said. Did you have a arrhythmia or throwing PVC's. What did they say your heart was actually doing. In most cases thats not going to hurt anything.

That's exactly what The report said borderline abnormal. I hope it's wrong because she had me in a recline sitting position and the leads were off but I didn't want to confront her about it because everyone does EKGs different I guess. When I've done EKGs on patients my leads are placed in the model form she had them in my inner calve and inner arm where you would get a blood draw. So I guess Monday I will see what happens because my surgery is scheduled for 10-22-13. It's a tight squeeze

I had an abnormal EKG, but I have an irregular heartbeat or what is called PAC's. My insurance required I have an echocardiogram to ensure everything was okay. And it was! Hopefully, you can get it and get things taken care of quickly. Best wishes and try not to worry! Plus it sounds like your nurse had an operator error! LOL : )

I've put my leads there before....even on the bottom part of someone's stomach depending on how hard it was to get to their legs. Good luck I hope everything turns out for the best! :-)

I had an abnormal ekg for both implanting the Lap Band and removing the Lap Band. It did not impact my surgery or recovery as far as I know.

Just ask your doctor what the "borderline abnormal" issue is. It's always good to be aware and have complete info. I read there are some causes of an abnormal ekg that are totally benign, no symptoms, etc. Don't panic and don't take it as a "sign" of anything :) It's simply a bordeline abnormal ekg -- and go from there.

i have cardiac arrythmias in fact after surgery i suffered with congested heart failure. to much iv fluids was the cause. most overweight ppl have a heart problem of some sort. your surgeon will read the report and recommend any further tests they want to ensure you are safe.

Also the reading isn't always right....the doc can look at it and see if it actually looks like what the machine is reading.

During my pre surgery testing I had 3 EKGs come back abnormal (one after the other). I was very nervous & it affected the EKG. The nurse left me alone for about 30 min and came back & re-tried it and it came back fine! I hope everything works out for you! Good luck!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
