Well everyone, i had my surgery this morning. Went pretty well. Doc even commented about how well i did on my diet because it was really easy for him. Home and resting for a while now. A little sore and the gas pain comes and goes but nothing that can't be handled.

Wishing everyone else well in the next couple of days. Lets do this. :)

Congrats! We went the same day. :) Mine was a breeze. I have shoulder pain thanks to a surprise hiatal hernia repair. Bleck. liquid Motrin and a heating pad are helping with that nonsense. Otherwise I feel good. Mr. Porty is a bit grouchy so I have to be careful but... yeah. This isn't bad, at all.

Cheers to you for a swift and uneventful recovery. :)

Hi Freedom, thinking of you this morning -- best wishes for a speedy recovery. Don't forget to walk as much as you can; you'll be so glad you did!

And TwinsMommy home already. Hope your recovery is going well and you have a nice quiet weekend planned. Happy Friday all!

Best Wishes to all new banders. I am 7 days post and feel great. So glad I did this. I know the harder part comes after I get my first fill but reading the experiences my fellow banders have had will help me keep a forward thinking attitude. I appreciate everyone's honest input. I hate suprises and this clears up any questions I have had. XO

Hi Tyler, I'm with you -- no surprises! Congratulations on your band....I am day 16 now and so, so happy. This was a life-changing event, not just the future weight loss and all that but I feel different in other ways.

I had my surgery on Monday. The best thing to do is walk and walk. I have been walking around the house like a hamster in a spinning ball! Lol. I still have gas in my stomach but the rest is gone. Wish you the best!

Oh yes, left shoulder pain.....a couple of ice packs did wonders. Some people use a heating pad, which is soothing, but the ice really helped (can alternate). Walking through it -- helps move trapped gas. I took Tylenol and Ibuprofen as needed. It does go away!

Walking and GasX (OTC at drugstore) work great for the shoulder pain. I also had hernia repair still time of surgery and if I remember correctly the shoulder pain for me lasted a week or two. Just when I thought it would never go away, it did.

I'm sleeved 1 wk 1day post-op

I had back pain and MAJOR gas pain from not passing gas or BM. I didn't think or know it was gas, thought it was just pain from surgery and incisions. That gas pain travels anywhere including shoulders

My son made me all natural peppermint leaves organic tea, 8oz, within 5 minutes my gas pain went away and helped me pass gas.

Try a warm cup of peppermint tea.

Hope you feel better.

Seriously? Time to nag them to death! They should have had everything in long ago. :/

I agree...the docs office should have submitted it all the same day as your last appt.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
