Has anyone had any luck getting their vitamin costs reimbursed through flex spending accounts post-op? I haven't had my surgery yet, and I know vitamins are usually not a qualified expense, but I have read some language that says if the vitamins are medically necessary then they may be reimbursable.

My experience as a provider had been that if I write a prescription for the vitamins then they qualify (and yes they can write a script for over the counter medications).

Awesome! It would be a huge help to run all those costs through a tax free benefit!

I get mine by "prescription" and they are covered under my flex spending account.

My doc wrote a letter saying they were medically necessary, so they are covered!
